Paige mum weren’t that bad. She said she didn’t like that Adam fella. Paige dad is probably embarrassed she on on LI. What do people want the parents to say ? Yes you are doing a fantastic job going from man to man and being horrible to the other girls (if what other islanders are saying is true). Paige is getting loads of stick on Twitter and isn’t very popular.

Sorry this made me laugh 😂 I would be upset my mum was publicly doubting the relationship she was bound to get kicked out after that comment, it’s a game they are all playing along so I would have been a bit annoyed with my mum for saying that, Paige is playing the game so is adam they all are that’s the point of the show but this is all true as well 😬

tenyrsago · 01/08/2022 17:33

If luca (and gemma, although I like her) don’t come last I’ll lose my mind

FeedMeSantiago · 01/08/2022 17:35

I also felt sorry for Paige, she looked upset when her Dad hadn't bothered to watch the show and her Mum didn't like Adam. Although I can see why her Mum would be concerned as Adam's behaviour in S4 was so awful he should never have been allowed in and Paige was on the rebound when he met her.

It would have been better to have sent Paige's mum and a friend in if her Dad couldn't be bothered to watch it!

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 01/08/2022 17:41

I think it’s probably a bit harsh to be judging Adam too much on his behaviour 4 years ago when he was 22 in a show where you probably saw I dunno, if we’re being generous, a combined 24 hours of his life.

I dunno about everyone else but I changed hugely as a person in my 20’s and seems slightly unfair to think Adam can’t have done the same.

S70V12 · 01/08/2022 17:43

They are all in it to be influencer, get followers, brand deals. I mean statistically your chances of finding “love” on the program are nil. Why choose that route over other routes ? Is all about the money but they lie to the cameras pretending they are chasing love.

Wasn't Luca going to do married at first sight?

No, I believe Coco from Casa Amor had started filming for married at first sight then got told she got Love Island and pulled out of that to do it!

Louise0701 · 01/08/2022 17:53

I would be happy with @BiscoffSundae s final choices.

Mummyoflittledragon · 01/08/2022 18:07

I hadn’t looked at Paige from the unloving parent pov. Am abroad and can only watch by hotspotting on catch up rather than on wifi and it’s glitchy. I thought her dad probably didn’t watch as he found it too hard to see his ‘little girl’ (my words, not his) in there… I do agree that it would have been better to have sent someone else.

I will try to follow this thread tonight. Can someone please announce when the vote is open for the first and then the second time? Thx.

Tasha's Dad about her hearing

I've just seen this video on BBC with Tasha's dad about her hearing. She's done brilliantly and deserves lots of praise for coping so well. I kept forgetting about her implant.
I hope she (and Andrew) win tonight.

FiloPasty · 01/08/2022 18:22

I’m still on holiday so not watching. Have 3 weeks worth on catch up to see when I get home :)
let me know when to vote

outshinethemorningsun · 01/08/2022 18:43

Are the outfits on first look the same outfits they will be wearing for the final tonight?

although surely they must be outfits they were wearing last night 🤔

I though Paige's mum and dad were awful - really unkind and unloving towards her. They could have said something nice such as we are so proud of you or something, even if they disapprove of Adam. Instead her mum seemed to suggest Jaques was a better choice. The Dad was just unkind. She looked crest-fallen and then hid it from the rest of the villa which was so sad. It spoke volumes to me about why she's always seemed so insecure despite being stunning and a kick-ass paramedic. She hides her insecure feelings with bubbliness. She seems to go for arsehole men when she could have had lovely mature Jay. She probably goes for men who treat her like shit just like her Dad.

Devils advocate here. Maybe they are just not impressed that their daughter has decided to abandon a respectable career that presumably has involved some hard work to get there, to become an influencer. That’s the only reason every single contestant is in there.

Her dad was frosty but I suspect he is one of those who doesn’t want to see his daughter doing sex dancing, necking on and wearing lingerie for the hideaway.

I don't disagree although it can't be nil given the number of couples who got together in LI, are still together and many are married / with children.

AbsoluteShambles · 01/08/2022 19:03

Rewatching as I’d taken a Valium last night and only had half an eye on it as I tried to stay awake for the vote 😂. Tasha’s parents really are just lovely!

WhatsitWiggle · 01/08/2022 19:09

I'm missing the final 😢 after 8 weeks, can't believe it. I voted Tasha and Andrew last night but I'm at the theatre. Anyone know how long it goes on for tonight?

WhyOhWine · 01/08/2022 19:16

Not a regular on these threads but have been following. Have been watching with teen DD, taking the opportunity to discuss relationships. We were talking about Luca and protective v possessive v controlling. General view seems to be possessive and controlling are bad and that protective is somehow ok or at least not so bad. Gemma, for example, said at one stage that he is just being protective as if that is ok.

So DD's question is this. What does he/she think he is protecting her from in the villa? Why does she need to be protected? Why is protective behaviour not seen as bad (particularly in a scenario where she is not at any risk!). Clearly we know that his behaviour is actually possessive/controlling, just wondered what they think they mean by being protective and why it is more acceptable .

9-10.35

feelthefear83 · 01/08/2022 19:53

Also I'm not in agreement that Tasha's Dad was great. I found him overbearing and it made complete sense why she can be so princessy at times.

This could all be the case but then don't visit her. Let someone kind visit instead. It was hard for her after so long away and she was so clearly seeking their approval and just got a slap in the face. I just thought parents ought to be kinder. Not to say they shouldn't have warned her off Adam but if the Dad disapproves of her the time to raise it is before you go, not give her frostiness in front of the nation.

You're not in Canada are you?

FiloPasty · 01/08/2022 20:25

No Switzerland

Zampa · 01/08/2022 20:26

Just sent the teens to the shop for finale snacks and hoping the smalls fall asleep before 9 ....

Despite (or because of) not watching for the past week I'm pretty excited for tonight.

BiscoffSundae · 01/08/2022 20:29

Is there anyway to watch it live online? I have a new tv but I threw out the instructions so I’ve only been able to watch on catch up, gutted to not be able to watch it live 😭

Mummyoflittledragon · 01/08/2022 20:34

@BiscoffSundae
