So what do your almost 7-year-olds watch?

Dd has declared herself much to old for most of CBeebies, but I'm finding it hard to find programmes which are suitable for her elsewhere.

She likes Bear Behaving Badly, SMart and Art Attack, Roar! and Whizz Whizz Bang Bang ... but I'm not really sure what else is age-appropriate as most of CBBC's output is way too old for her. I'm a boring old fart and have no intention of letting her watch Tracy Beaker and the like for a good while yet, but would still like to let her relax for a bit with some TV sometimes.

So ... what do yours watch?

Ds (6.5) likes Blue Peter and something called ROAR.

charliecat · 18/01/2008 20:24

simpsons and top gear

Twiglett · 18/01/2008 20:24

Nick Jr and Scooby DOo

scatterbrain · 18/01/2008 20:24

My dd 7 discovered Tiny Pop on Sky and absolutely loves a programme called Timothy Goes to School ! There's a few good programmes on there actually.

WigWamBam · 18/01/2008 20:27

Can't get Nick Jr anymore and we haven't got Sky so that limits our choices even more.

Although she might like Charliecat's suggestion of Top Gear - she's a bit of a petrol-head!

Ah yes - 'Dave' has introduced ds to the delights of Clarkson...

FarcicalAlienQueen · 18/01/2008 20:29

my DS's watch Citv in the afternoons after school - horrid henry and then some "girly" (well according to DS1 and 2) programme afterwards

Other than that - anything to do with cars, rally, top gear,

WigWamBam · 18/01/2008 20:46

She's seen Horrid Henry a couple of times but wasn't too impressed with it. Wonder what the "girly" thing afterwards is?

Might try her with Blue Peter ... probably a bit more wholesome than Jeremy Clarkson

You've been framed, spongebob, cbeebies, lazytown that kind of thing.

charliecat · 18/01/2008 20:52

you can watch top gear on demand from the bbc website..my dds sat last night and watched 2 episodes. Glued they were

hannahsaunt · 18/01/2008 20:57

We're at the same stage with ds1 and we haven't really gotten around to determining the times of acceptable CBBC programmes like Blue Peter yet. He doesn't get CITV because I have a thing about adverts. However, he has discovered Setanta Sports which he would watch all day given half a chance (and I know it has adverts too but they are for cars and things rather than aimed at a childrens audience). Other suggestions welcomed.

WigWamBam · 18/01/2008 21:05

The timing is difficult, isn't it. I'm finding that most of the stuff on CBBC at the time dd is home is way too old for her. I've been recording a few bits for her though, so I know she always has some age-appropriate stuff to watch.

My ds also likes to watch super nanny and as he thinks the chn being naughty are absolutely hilarious.

WigWamBam · 19/01/2008 12:19

Hmmmm ... not sure I'd want her getting any ideas

Was really thinking of children's programmes; she doesn't watch any adult ones yet and won't for a while.

Oh, You've Been Framed is excellent for LOs - mine (nearly 7 and 3) LOVE it. The youngest giggles all the way through it!
