Poor old Vera is shuffling of this mortal coil and I will have my tissues ready but how will the powers that be do it do you think?

I have just wiped away a tear

Lizzzombie · 18/01/2008 20:04

I was so expecting something a bit more dramatic! She was obviously really tiered of acting and couldn't wait to retire!

wooga · 18/01/2008 20:04

You aren't the only one (sniff),very sad.

scatterbrain · 18/01/2008 20:08

I'm glad they did it this way - very fitting and has no less impact imho ! A violent end would have been awful and very out of character too.

cornsilk · 18/01/2008 20:11

I missed it - what happened?

bohemianbint · 18/01/2008 20:14

was all a bit rushed though, don't you think?

scatterbrain · 18/01/2008 20:16

Jack came back from the pub - Vera looked asleep in her chair - he was chatting to her and then went to see what she'd cooked for tea - found nothing - tried to wake her and found she was cold - and lips turning blue.

It was very very moving ! And very realistic.

scatterbrain · 18/01/2008 20:16

Rushed ? No - not at all.

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 18/01/2008 20:17

It's on again in 15 minutes.....

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 18/01/2008 20:18

I retract my earlier post! Well done CS for not having her bumped off in an exciting Harold Shipman-esque storyline or done away with by a relative.

I didn't watch but I might phone my mum to see how loud she's howling.

bohemianbint · 18/01/2008 20:18

I dunno, it was just such a short scene - tum te tum, Vera's dead, credits...

I'll usually cry at anything but this just left me feeling a bit...

Probably is quite realistic though.

southeastastra · 18/01/2008 20:29

bubblerock · 18/01/2008 20:34

God, a soap opera actually had me in tears . That was done really well. Bill Tarmey was excellent.
