I'm obsessed, it's my little piece of down time that I look forward too. Anyone else?

OP posts:

Is it me or is Chloe just completely dramatic. I know moving house is stressful but she's being OTT. I'm really not liking her this season, can't quite put my finger on why.

Same with Mia. She hasn't thought about Marliya at all when she's thinking of uprooting her to live with a man. If anything he should move to be with her to keep stability for marliya.

JohnsShirt · 21/10/2023 11:25

Chloe thinks she's some big time influencer and she just isn't.

Tambatamba · 21/10/2023 11:43

I wonder if Mia just wants to get away from Manley? I wouldn't blame her tbh. But certainly it would be unsettling for Marliya. I don't think I'd be moving all that at this point in a relationship which hasn't been ideal. I hope I'm wrong but I get cocaine user vibes from the bf.

Chloe is materialistic and boring to watch.

Itchyitchyitchyyy · 21/10/2023 13:36

Yes Chloe was ridiculous, thinking she needs Jordan at her beck and call full time. She isn't in the real world anymore, Jordan was like "err I'm pretty sure lots of people who work are also able to move house". Like moving house is a full time job...

JohnsShirt · 21/10/2023 13:39

I honestly have no idea what Jordan sees in Chloe at this point.

CassieLane · 21/10/2023 15:25

I'm enjoying the latest series. This is a great thread to read as this isn't a programme I know anyone else watches.

Some thoughts -

  • I wish they worked ( I'm assuming they earn from being influencers) but Mia, Sassie and Amber all had ambition and jobs in earlier series. I am sure they would have had a much better sense of achievement and greater self respect.
  • In the same way, pleased Jordan has returned to work rather than being Chloe’s dogsbody!
  • How poor a parent Amber appears to be, no consistency, little engagement with her kids. They demand attention and have come to realise negative is better than none. What happened to ‘no screen at bed, they don't sleep and are tired and awful the next day’.
  • Ste has his faults, but I really liked how he talked Hudson through going to nursery. He gave so many positives, was interested and key, gave Hudson so many little next steps. At every stage, Hudson knew what was coming and reacted positively. Very different to Amber’s wait till he is beyond upset, then be negative.
  • Manley, nasty and controlling. Manley ‘I can have as many girlfriends and babies as I want…but don’t you dare even speak to another man, Mia’.
Tambatamba · 21/10/2023 16:40

Lots of people who appear on reality TV end up earning from being influencers. I don't see why they should be looked down upon for that. None of these girls have much in the way of qualifications. They probably make way more from instagram etc - good for them.

Tambatamba · 21/10/2023 16:43

It's easy to say Ste's parenting style is better than Amber's when he only sees his own children occasionally and plays Disney dad. Badly behaved children will rally for the parent they see the least. Ste is more interested in getting his hair cut than looking after the children he created.

monicagellerbing · 21/10/2023 17:09

Totally agree with all the points about Chloe, she's just so vapid. Jordan could do a lot better. Plus I can't stand the way she talks, dragging her voice out, I've noticed a lot of young people do this although it is normally
American girls. Not sure how long she thinks 'influencing' will last. She's so boring

I didn't watch the evry early series, what job did Amber have? I seem to remember her saying she had very good grades at school, she could have done so much better.

I do remember Sassi training to do plastering or something? She used to be quite driven and enjoy getting out of the house, shame she didn't keep it up.

She does come across a bit depressed and unmotivated and I think not having a job can't be helping. I feel like this sometimes when working from home, it's awful being home all day!

Edited

Sassi did really well at the plastering but couldn't make the hours fit with childcare. She was then doing some beauty training.

Amber was meant to be training as a social worker but I don't think that went anywhere and then I think in the first episode of this series she mentioned being a carer.

I’m not looking down on them, the girls themselves don’t appear to be happy, talk lots about ‘losing themselves’. A job would help, Sassie worked hard in her ‘building’ job and was really proud of herself, Amber talked about becoming a social worker….what happened?

Ste was just more natural and encouraging with Hudson, more positive. Amber is pretty disengaged and then so negative. Often lazy.

CassieLane · 21/10/2023 21:32

Does anyone know where Mia’s mum is? Never a mention?

Tambatamba · 21/10/2023 23:08

But once your entire lives are plastered on TV, it's probably harder to go for jobs / training and have the same anonymity that you otherwise would. And this also isn't something that you'd necessarily have awareness of at 16/17.

I should imagine she doesn't want to be filmed by MTV?

Agreed!

He seems to contribute to their upbringing when it's convenient to him. I'm still in shock about him just pissing off so he didn't miss his hair appointment. And it still boggles my mind that he couldn't appear to have them for a night or two to sleepover and relieve them from the overcrowded living situation.

It has made me wonder who watched Amber and her friend's kids while they went camping. Surely whoever it was could have had them a night or two at other times to ease the pressure. Makes me think it's been exaggerated for a storyline - no one can possibly help Amber out while she's living in a heaving house but they can help out while she goes of on a camping trip?

JohnsShirt · 24/10/2023 21:44

Amber's parenting is woeful, she just stood there whilst Hudsom was slamming a kitchen cupboard, not noticing or caring, she didn't bother to sit them all down properly to eat, she just does nothing, Ste is worse, Amber might be shit but she has them, he doesn't, nor does he really care.
Completely crap, both of them.

colouroftherainbow · 25/10/2023 22:51

Season 1 came out when I had DD and I used to watch during breastfeeding marathons. It’s been my guilty pleasure ever since but they’re all pissing me off this season.

Amber, Sassi and Mia are just portrayed as awful parents. Amber can’t be bothered to be a parent - she’s in the same cycle as the first season. Messy house (which she’s now taken to her poor friend), no routine, no discipline, children constantly throwing tantrums, no direction in life. Her friend has one hell of a lot of patience

Sassi and Mia’s girls just see endless conflict and fighting between their parents. I sympathise with Mia as Manley is probably the worst person to even attempt to co-parent with. But she seems far more interested in a new relationship than any sort of stability for her daughter. The dentist episode really annoyed me - she’s found the money to go abroad and get her teeth done but cannot manage simple dental check ups for her child. Having had extensive dental work, she should know better than anyone how important prevention is.

Made me upset to see the way Sassi and Darren got annoyed with their daughter when they don’t appear to model any sort of stability, always shout and interrupt each other. What else can they expect from her? Want your child to value their education - model it through your behaviour.

Chloe is irritating but credit where it’s due - she has a stable home for her son and her life is currently steady.

monicagellerbing · 26/10/2023 12:06

Sassi is now 'getting close to god' I've heard it all now

Did you see the state Marliya got herself into when Mia even mentioned the dentist? That will be why she didn't take her, not because she doesn't care.

But if she had been taking her since a toddler like you're supposed to it's unlikely she would have had that reaction. To not take your child to the dentist until they are 7 is really not good.

Exactly this. My DD is just a couple of months younger - she has been seeing a dentist since her first tooth came out and despite the 2 year break due to Covid, still doesn’t blink at the idea of going to the dentist.

The fact that she herself has poor dental health (possibly genetic) and had her own teeth replaced is even more of a reason to ensure the same does not happen to her child

Tambatamba · 26/10/2023 15:39

Didn't she only have her teeth replaced for cosmetic reasons? All the teen mum uk women have veneers

DappledThings · 26/10/2023 19:28

Felt sad for Sassi breaking down to her mum about being depressed and her mum just telling her "that's life". She was really trying to ask for help.
