So this is it gang, the final thread.

Will Paul & Therese get it on in time?
Who's off to The US?
Who moves in no 24?
Will Toadie make it down the aisle again?
Will Jane ever move out?
What will the last ever words spoken be?

And anyone going to the shows has to come back and spill the deets

Box sets available?! Just how many would you need to buy to do the full thing? ConfusedGrin

Rummikub · 04/08/2022 02:26

Just read that close to 3 million watched the finale.

And I didn’t know it outperforms Hollyoaks for viewing figures.

SleepingStandingUp · 04/08/2022 08:28

I read it was Guy Pierced idea for him to be Sammy's Dad which is so lovely because she wouldn't have been in the final episode otherwise, and now she's part of proper Erinsborough family with a Ramsey Street address

I wonder if my first love has secretly loved me for decades without telling me??

Given it’s greater popularity it would appear to be purely a cost of production issue with C5 having to foot the bill. Of course had it been more popular than it was then it would still be on.

Didn’t realise until yesterday when checking the listings that Home and Away isn’t shown on the main channel at tea time. It must be really far down the pecking order..trumped by Cash in the Attic. As soon as Aussies drop interest in it (if that happens) then that’s it.

Home and Away on ITV then Neighbours on the BBC, after coming home from school these were TV staples (screened after CITV/BBC kids shows). Now none of them are there.

Rummikub · 04/08/2022 14:39

Yes channel 5 want to do more home grown stuff.

When channel 5 bought it the show was moved to a streaming channel in Australia which plummeted numbers I think.

SleepingStandingUp · 04/08/2022 15:23

A lovely thing to do

SleepingStandingUp · 06/08/2022 23:40

He was being a dick but DH is a genius.

Neighbours, the musical.

It would comprise songs from its actors and actresses - Jason, Kylie, Craig, Delta, Natalie, STEPHAN!!

I'll be rich!!

That’s a brilliant idea!

Anyone know a writer..

I do miss it so much! I’ve even had Paul’s voice in my head 😱

SleepingStandingUp · 06/08/2022 23:45

Holly Valance, Stephanie McIntosh, Sam Clarke, Rough Traders (Natalie Bassingthwaighte)..have Google and I missed any one?

That’s a lot of singers!
Fletch will want to do more than a couple of songs I’m sure.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/08/2022 08:54

It means we can pick and choose tho. But we need these immortal lines from Stefan Laying beside me, inside as we know; The longer it lasts, the closer we grow; Nothing else matters its true

😱😂

DahliaMacNamara · 07/08/2022 13:56

I hate to say this, but shouldn't the lovely Mea be included in this musical extravaganza?

Smidge001 · 07/08/2022 16:05

Dahlia don't you dare....

🤣

MiddleClassProblem · 07/08/2022 17:29

Also, I would count that as cheating as she was already an established singer when joining.

Rummikub · 07/08/2022 17:31

Do we let her out if she’s a draw for audiences?

What about Ben Kirk? He played a pop star in his move after Neighbours. I’m presuming he has musical ability..

Rummikub · 07/08/2022 17:35

The musical would open to the theme tune of course.

opening scene Karl?

SleepingStandingUp · 07/08/2022 18:26

I'm imaging Karl singing the theme tune as it opens them Susan coming in and trekking him to be quiet

OP posts:
Rummikub · 08/08/2022 07:49

Toadie can sing! So he can come in after Susan.

SleepingStandingUp · 08/08/2022 10:28

Rummikub · 08/08/2022 07:49

Toadie can sing! So he can come in after Susan.

Ok so Karl's all "Neighbours, everybody needs good neighbors, with a little understanding..."
Enter Susan. "Oh give it a rest Karl, you've been singing that for days. Can't you go and prune your durians or something?"
Karl: "you don't prune durians Susan..."
Toadie walks in "Neighbours, should be there for one another...."
Susan, throwing her hands up "oh not you as well, I'm off to Harold's for some peace and quiet!"
Karl shouts after her "you wait, I'm telling you it'll be no 1 some day and we'll be rich!". Turns to Toadie "Want a cuppa mate?"
Toadie."Yes ta"
Scene fades away.
