The Our Girl Addicts Thread 65 Stay focused, Stay alert, Stay alive and carry on....spying

We started to follow Our Girl back in 2014 and although there will be no further series, we do revisit from time to time. We have watched all seven series of Soldier Soldier to keep up our military terminology and have galloped through all three series of The Musketeers. There was a definite connection between Our Girl and The Musketeers in the delightful form of Luke Pasqualino. We have now agreed to watch the old BBC series of Spooks and are currently in the middle of series 2. Please join in if this grabs your attention.

"No animals were hurt in the making of this episode" (I hope).

Magi84 · 05/10/2022 21:54

That was terrible in front of those children

eejittwo · 05/10/2022 21:54

she’s right, you know, it was exciting. He said so.

Rhubarb01 · 05/10/2022 21:55

Tom will be proved right. The Prof will lose is family and his normal life over this. He was enjoying it, but now he will learn what happens.

Rhubarb01 · 05/10/2022 21:56

At least he got to leave the service with a bankers box of his stuff rather than as a name on the famous wall of the fallen.

eejittwo · 05/10/2022 21:57

So the spin-off series should have been what does an ex-spook do.

Magi84 · 05/10/2022 21:58

Good luck in the real world

Probably become a security consultant like Tessa.

Ilovelblue · 05/10/2022 21:58

It must be hard clearing out your stuff and being watched by your colleagues.

Hopefully, he'll have a better office than Tessa Grin

Ilovelblue · 05/10/2022 22:02

It was easier to understand than some of the more recent ones we've seen I think.

Yes it had a beginning a middle and an end ... always better for keeping track. Enjoyed it but felt sorry for the family not the scientist as he was in a glory trip in the end

Rhubarb01 · 05/10/2022 22:10

Yes, I agree. It was a good episode, and they found a reasonable exit for Tom. After all the upheaval in his life, losing Ellie and Christine, and almost losing his whole life when they framed him, at least he's got a chance to get things together and live a normal life at last, but it would take a lot to get over that amount of pressure and stress.

eejittwo · 05/10/2022 22:13

Will he ever trust anyone again?
And, yes, it was a good episode.

Ilovelblue · 12/10/2022 20:41

Hi ladies. How are we all? Ready for episode 3?

A grainy look at a past event with suitably middle-east sounding music, so we realise it's abroad somewhere...
