A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese drama as & when.

Shows marked with a star are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, its important to note most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, language, film and music when the mood takes us. A few of us are learning Korean, Japanese and/or Mandarin (some more diligently than others admittedly), so we swap tips and links to language resources. Basically, anything topical goes.

We sometimes resort to acronyms and/or abbreviations of show titles or favourite actors’ names. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

Stupid question but how do I get Viki on smart TV? I don't like watching on phone or tablet.

Has anyone tried accessing Olgas directly on their smart tv? How safe was it and do you need to add additional security eg Nortons and a VPN to your router for safety?
Mirroring via airplay is playing up atm.

@anonacfr Do you have a Samsung tv? Because I don't think they support the Viki app anymore.

We have an AppleTV box and that accepts the Viki app.

I think Apple is the only one which has the app on the TV. Or you can screencast to your TV from your phone.

We have a Chromecast with Google TV which allows us to have the Viki app on our TV. Our actual TV is ancient, so it's a good way of upgrading it.

There was a moment in ep 7 where ML takes FL's hand....swooon....so simple but effective

I don't find the actor attractive, just this character 😂 I think it's the long hair and his outfit. But, it probably is an improvement on Sung Dong Il, I haven't seen him in anything for a while so he's dropped off my radar!

I really love this show, the relationship began the FL and ML is lovely. I hope it has a happy ending!

I really like the show too, I'm a huge fan of both Lee Jae Wook & Jung So Min but they're all so good! And of course Hong sisters script.

I want Park Jin and Housekeeper Kim to pair up, also blonde guy and obsessed-with-ML girl. I'm predicting a sad first love ending for Naksu & Seo Yul, and Crown Prince develops a crush on Filthy Mu-Deok but obvs she & Jang Uk will get together 👌

Extraordinary Attorney - i'm actually enjoying it and am finding it rather lovely!... there are niggly bits but on the whole...it's 😊... I might even start to like miserable/sulky Brahms Park Eun Bin!!!
