For a lover of gentle/funny/ good murder mysteries like Murdoch Mysteries, Hudson & Rex, Miss Fisher.... what else do you recommend?

Just that really - anything interesting with good acting that is solvable but not too easy.

Love Miss Marple too... less keen on Shakespeare and Hathaway...

Another vote for Agatha Raisin - although it may be on a par with Shakespeare and Hathaway.

MacDonald and Dodds was lovely. Set in Bath with two great actors in the leading roles.

I loved Queens of Mystery recently. Cozy and interesting.

There was a great one set in France recently, cannot remember the title...

I have to say though, I really REALLY dislike the lead actor in Agatha Raisin. She is not at all how the books are written, and I can't get on with her at all.

Brokenwood mysteries are also brilliant.

Pie in the Sky, Hamish Macbeth, Jonathan Creek, Partners in Crime, Cadfael.

Totally agree with that! I watched a couple but gave up in outrage. Agatha is 'like a small brown bear with beady eyes' or something like that. Comforting but a bit dangerous when backed into a corner. NOT a glamorous blonde as portrayed on TV.

Hmm, Hercule Poirot series are fab.
Rosemary and Thyme is nice too.

Scott and Bailey, and Grace. Though neither is that gentle, to be honest.

Grace?! The one I watched was so harrowing I didn't watch the others!
