The Our Girl Addicts Thread 64 Stay focused, Stay alert, Stay alive and carry on....spying

We started to follow Our Girl back in 2014 and although there will be no further sries, we do revisit from time to time. We have watched all seven series of Soldier Soldier to keep up our military terminology and have galloped through all three series of The Musketeers. There was a definite connection between Our Girl and The Musketeers in the delightful form of Luke Pasqualino. We are revisiting series 2 of Our Girl currently but when this has come to an end, we have agreed to start watching the old BBC series of Spooks. Please join in if this grabs your attention.

Our American spy is Christine Dale. She doesn't look like one, does she? Very glamorous individual.

I like those entry pods. The little girl has died and Tom takes it badly. Must be under a lot of repressed stress.

Rhubarb01 · 04/05/2022 21:47

Tom is musing about the difficulties of living a secret life.

Rhubarb01 · 04/05/2022 21:48

Zoe is going to pose as the doctor who is thought to be the target and Danny will be keeping her under surveillance.

Ilovelblue · 04/05/2022 21:50

Had to stop typing.

Bomb disposal are in the vicinity and the tails are all in place ready to follow. Tense stuff.

eejittwo · 04/05/2022 21:52

Did he say Elvis Zero?

Rhubarb01 · 04/05/2022 21:52

Ahh, so sweet ilove. Yep, you shouldn't be typing when someone needs attention.

Rhubarb01 · 04/05/2022 21:53

Jammer not working!!! slight technical hitch!!!

Ilovelblue · 04/05/2022 21:53

Eejit the Alpha call signs reminded me of Elvis too.

The message didn't send - very much like OG.

Ilovelblue · 04/05/2022 21:56

Yep Rhu, that's just what I thought!

Tom offers Mary a deal to stop her facing the death penalty in the USA.

Ilovelblue · 04/05/2022 21:58

Interesting deal.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 04/05/2022 21:59

So, Tom decides it's time to come clean...or does he?

Meanwhile she is handed over to the CIA and will go to Florida, so the death penalty awaits. Tom lied about that one.

eejittwo · 04/05/2022 22:01

And she still ends up in Disneyland

Ilovelblue · 04/05/2022 22:01

Well Mary whatever deal you thought was struck has turned out not to be the case. Florida sunshine and the death penalty await you.

How was it for you eejit?

I think what I liked in that first episode was a relatively simple plot - in other words, I knew who was who! Not like some of the military battles we've seen where we've lost track of who was fighting who.

I enjoyed it so far — is the next episode the one with the ‘look away’ bit you tmentioned?

Rhubarb01 · 04/05/2022 22:10

Yes, that is the one eejit.

Ilovelblue · 04/05/2022 22:14

Yes indeed it was. I've just got up to the end of series 3 and I have to admit episode 9 was making me feel very uncomfortable.

What happened to Magi tonight?

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 04/05/2022 22:20

Magi had technical problems and had to bow out tonight ilove. I must admit that I find that iplayer is the streaming service that most often buffers or stops when I'm watching and it did it three times tonight.

Rhubarb01 · 04/05/2022 22:21

Overall, it was a good introductory episode, letting us know a little bit of what we are in for and who is who and the problems of being in that job.

Ilovelblue · 04/05/2022 22:26

I decided to find the DVDs on eBay. To be honest, I went through episode after episode on iPlayer and decided it was too easy to binge watch. With the DVD I have to sit in front of the television so it therefore limits my viewing.

I’ll stick to iPlayer which seems stable at the moment #famouslastwords.
