Just watching this on catch up. Forgot what a judgemental arrogant s**tshow this actually was. How it wasnt cancelled sooner was incredible, it was only a matter of time before someone was driven to desperation, the condescending bullying way guests were spoken to.
Interestingly Graham Stanier the unqualified counsellor hasn't been mentioned yet. I always found him creepy and insincere and absolutely the last person anyone would open up to.

What part of the guilt needs to be assigned to those who watched?

Just caught up with Part 2, Graham actually said he wasnt responsible for JK's behaviour. No, but he was complicit in the distress the 'thick as shit' guests undoubtably suffered.
I did used to watch it occasionally, as pp said you became desensitised to the shouting. Watching it back made me feel very uncomfortable and yes to a degree guilty.
His arrogance and 'god-like' complex always was clear from the way he spoke to guests-hearing him berate drug users and vulnerable people is just horrible.
He's released a statement today saying how sad he is about the guys death, in the next breath he's saying how tough it was for him, how he needed to go to the doctor to get help.
The irony being Graham the genius could have helped him surely?

Agree he should never be allowed back on screen.

The three runners were anonymous. We can't say everything they said was true or maybe it is and that's why they don't want people knowing who they are.

Something else I've always though about the show. The lie detector is not 100% so obviously some of the results will definitely be wrong.

Imagine the 1000s of families that will have affected. What about all the ones who were shown to tell the truth when they actually weren't.

It was definitely a guilty pleasure but it was occasionally fucking funny.

Charlie Brooker nailed it and then
