I was a fan of Taggart back in the 80s (not sure how popular it was in England though?). Inspector Wexford and A Touch of Frost were close favourites but Taggart was exceptional as I remember - even the theme tune and opening credits gave me goosebumps.

What were your favourite 80s detective shows? 🧐

Morse - we have the boxset and even now still enjoy an episode.

I also like Poirot and some of the Miss Marples.

I’ve actually never seen Taggart Blush will need to see if I can find some episodes!

Taggart was the best.

Bergerac

I was in England and loved Taggart! And the fact it continued to be called Taggart after Mark McManus's sad death. Brilliant programme.
(And I remember being totally gobsmacked that Mark M was probably Brian Connolly of Sweet's half brother. ).

I loved Cracker too. As well as the classics like Morse and Wexford. And PD James's Adam Dalgliesh.

I was a teenager in the eighties (so allowed bad choices?). Consequently loved Dempsey & Makepeace, Cover Up, Cats Eyes and Miami Vice.

Also used to like The PD James adaptations with Roy Marsden and anything Agatha Christie especially if it included Art Deco glamour.

How could I forget Morse?

I was also glued to Juliet Bravo on a Saturday night, Jean Darblay was my hero Grin

Bergerac. The guy who played his sidekick Willy Pettit (John Telfer) used to come into my workplace regularly as he lived locally.
