I'm still stuck on the fact they put rap in it!

Crystaltips · 18/11/2004 18:19

Who were all those people!!!

Slinky · 18/11/2004 18:19

Awful, awful, awful!!

But yes, will buy it to raise the funds, but will stick to playing my good old "original" on vinyl

Just goes to prove that today's artists can't sing for love nor money.

God, I'm turning into my mum - I even lectured DD1 this morning on how lucky she was to have radiators in her bedrooms (complaining she was cold!). Before I could stop myself, I'm bleating on about "in my day, we had no central heating - the only room heated was the sitting room blah, blah, blah"

Slinky · 18/11/2004 18:19

and that's another thing - I hadn't a bloody clue who was who on the Band Aid vid!

luckymum · 18/11/2004 18:24

Being an oldie myself I prefer the original version.....those were the days when only Uncle Bob could use the F word on telly and get away with it

I didn't like it at all. Nowhere near as good as the original version, imo. Why didn't they do a new song? I definitely won't be buying it.

dogwalker · 18/11/2004 19:22

Didn't see it as was out doing taxi service but have seen the line up of artists and hardly know any of them. Is George Michael in it this time or not? Remember his hair from first time around?

enid · 18/11/2004 19:26

I like the rap part. But isn't it obvious that Chris Martin and Dido and Robbie Williams aren't in the big group?

like i said on the other thread, it's not really intended for us is it? it's for a new generation....

misdee · 18/11/2004 19:56

i'll be buying it anyway, my dd's love the darkness and busted etc.

Sandi102 · 20/11/2004 21:01

this version isn't as cheesy as the first one..it's mellow, with some great great diverse and distinctive voices, in line with today's (2004) music scene. The old skool mumsnetters may prefer the 80's track because for their generation that was the music scene but for me and I'm sure for mum's who have children my age (26) then this track is class. (or as my nephew 17 says sick, meaning very good!..i know i find it hard keeping up wit the lingo..)..so pls pls buy it..i'm sure people have bought cd's that have been a lot worse..where to begin??...
