Shows like Sex and the City

I used to live SATC back in the day (hated the films and I'm not watching the new series). The reason I loved it was the characters were older late 20s/30s and well written and I loved the friendship between them. Are there any similar shows out there. I find that most shows have very young females in the lead and I just can't warm to them. I also love that it was filmed a lot on the streets of New York rather than a film set which gave a realness to it.

Any suggestions as to what I might like?

I liked The Mindy Project. It's all on Amazon Prime at the moment, though I think only for another week or so!

Mrs meisal ticks many of the same boxes. Amazing clothes, funny, feminist, lots of New York scenery

Emily in Paris - agree with pp is not great. Just learned Lily Collins is the daughter of Phil Collins.

Hidden gem.

The good wife - phenomenal. Just is
The bold type - fun but you love the characters
Gilmore girls - entertaining and wholesome
Fleabag - shocking but moorish
Greys anatomy - the earlier years are epic and really give you characters to love
West wing - best programme ever and you fall deep for the characters
Big little lies - gripping drama but as much about the people as the mystery

Better things is excellent. Please someone watch it.

@drwitch you mean the lead is on Mumsnet? Something very relatable despite her being in a career I could only dream of. And she knocks the shine off acting as a career. You get a sense of how hard it is. But her parenting is what I love to watch. I think I might rewatch it.

If you’ve seen The White Lotus, the actress portraying the spa manager is on this show and is absolutely hilarious.
