Watched this earlier, wow it really does make you think, about how motherhood is hard, really hard and draining and full of guilt. Motherhood is a mental illness/ can cause a mental illness that men just don't get ? Interesting and honest, has anyone else seen it?

We're just moving this thread to our Telly Addicts topic (and giving it a bump for the OP).

I thought it was really great. The description of having children as a "crippling responsibility" was so spot on!
And the way the children were demanding of her attention in such a realistic way, they were'nt being naughty it was just the constant, Mummy, Mummy, Mummy. I particularly liked it when she was on the phone and they knew they could'nt disturb her so they were whispering, mine do that and its as sweet as it is frustrating.
Id say she had issues beyond the usual trials of motherhood though and he hints to her own childhood as a black hole or something like that?
It was interesting that I saw myself in all the mothers in the film though not just Leda they were all relatable in certain ways (wish I looked more like Dakota Johnson Grin
And another stand out part was when Leda's husband was begging her to stay, it was clearly in the main because he didnt want to look after the children and not because he actually wanted HER.
The main message I got was that no matter how hard it all is, you just love them so much, cheesy but true.

It stayed with me for weeks. Very uncomfortable viewing.

I loved it. So many relatable moments plus so much tension.

(I mean, in case you want to read them. Can never be too many threads on it!)

It really stayed with me. She had some major self-sabotaging going on I think with the doll. And she seemed really pissed with the world at times, and I think she felt invisible and vulnerable on the supposed break from it all. Ragey as well which I haven’t seen portrayed so well.
