Is anyone else getting 'cocklodger' vibes from this chap? Young woman, works hard, saving up and about to buy a new house, meets a new bloke, buys a lovely little 2 bed bungalow with a massive garden near to her family and friends.
Bloke moves himself in - and his two teenagers visit regularly. They have a baby. He moans constantly about the house having no outside barbecue space and not being big enough for him and his kids.
They're extending but he's not convinced. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
This programme is mu guilty pleasure.Blush

Yes I thought this. I really get the feeling she doesn't want to move. The fact he complained about the layout of the house right from the get go was a bit Hmm

I'm getting the feeling they are both being unreasonable tbh.

That garden is massive and way nicer than any Phil has shown them. But the house does not have a good layout, nor is it big enough for a family of 5 imho.

She is also being a bit OTT about not moving far from her lifetime lived in Street 🙄

Yes had that feeling too.

Feel like she's been steamrollered on the build too.

Haven't watched tonight's yet, I thought the bloke from the Poole episode a couple weeks ago was horrible. A builder that let his wife live in an unfinished house for 30 years, suddenly pulls his fingers out within 6 weeks for TV and then wants all the glory and praise from it, he was so smug.

I felt so sorry for that woman in Dorset. She laughed all the way through to cover up her decades of frustration and hurt. He ignored her hopes for the house.

Love this programme

I got the same vibe.
He wanted a 4 bedrooms presumably so his older kids had a bedroom each but he wasn't goint to pay for it, was he?

TheDogsMother · 06/01/2022 15:48

My vibe was the other way round. She was absolutely never moving from the place where her family lived. Not even 10 minutes away. She had closed her mind to anywhere else at all and by roping her family into the work it would make it very difficult for him to 'List' due to feeling obligated to them. Didn't think the end result was great either.

I've just watched it and I have to disagree. I think he came across well, the house really wasn't suitable for their family, they're a family of 5 and it was a small 2 bedroom house. I found her quite immature how reluctant she was to move even 3 miles down the road! I don't think the extension really went far enough either to solve the problem, the kids' rooms are very small. I can't relate being so stuck on location to make a compromise like that (considering it's quite an affordable area) but hopefully they'll be happy.

Agree I don’t think all this fault

They needed a bigger place or extra bedrooms

A man cave at bottom garden wouid have been good for him to work and boys to play

The bunk beds looked tiny for 13&15yr. Guessing they say weekends

Silly she wouldn’t move a few miles

Tho weird they have been together 10yrs but she brought the bungalow 5yrs ago alone

Weren’t they serious then after 5yrs
