Our Girl Thread 62 "Our Girl, Soldier Soldier and The Musketeers Revisited"

We started to follow "Our Girl" back in 2014 and although there will be no further series, we do revisit from time to time. We have watched all seven series of "Soldier Soldier" to keep up our military terminology and are now on the final series of "The Musketeers". Of course, there is a definite connection between "Our Girl" and "The Musketeers" in the delightful form of Luke Pasqualino. In the New Year, we plan to go back and watch series 2 of Our Girl.

Athos has now taken on the black shirt - it's a bit like a relay - glad it didn't stay on evil uncle Rupe.

Not sure that the Bastille will do much for Dukie's pale complexion.

I see a story in the papers this morning, that troops hoping to join new special ops regiment will have to show personal characteristics beyond those required by regular soldiers. Now, I wonder, what ‘personal characteristics’ could they mean?

Now that sounds intriguing eejit ... would they be open to suggestions do you think?

Oh yes eejit, perhaps we ought to be on the selection board or at least the advisory committee!

How about Thursday next week? That would seem to suit us all?

Now this sounds like the golden days of the Our Girl threads where we would offer our services for specific roles on the selection board. Hands up who remembers the immortal tape measure sketch? Not to mention all the Christmas Stag goods we were so keen to spot in the shops. I still can't look a tin of shortbread without smirking!

Thursday fine for me too. Yes Rhu I remember the stags enthusiasm and the tape measure episode. I just read all your comments in those days and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Series one was pretty unique for that I think.

Ladies, I hate to admit this, but I can't remember what the tape measure episode was all about now. I remember our interest in all things stags (and still have two pairs of stag themed knickers shoved at the back of my undies drawer) but the tape measure totally escapes me. Go on, who can remind me?

So it’ Thursday this week instead of Wednesday. Just checking.
