There have been about 5 programmes over the last week or so that i've missed the end of becuse itv stick the news right in the mioddle of them - and by the time they come back on i'm asleep!! It's soooooooooo bloody annoying!!! Tonight I want to watch About a Boy - but guess what?! The news is bang in the middle of it for half an hour Grrrrrrrr!!

Yes, I hate that too! I love Frank Skinner & try every week to keep my eyes open til after the news - It just ruins it!

They used to do it all the time with films and it really put you off watching them, then they tried moving the ten o'clock news for a while but that didn't go down well and i dont think that lasted very long. Since then i think they have just tried to schedual around it but with a film like About a boy they couldn't really justify not putting it on till half ten when it would probably have lost half of it audience, so we just have to put up with it!

I know - I was watching American Pie 2 last week, was really looking forward to some laughs but when the news interrupted it I just wanted to go to bed cos I was tired and realised the film would now finish much later than I thought. It really bugs me!

It's ridiculous! This is the reason ITV originally stopped showing News at Ten. Then BBC decided to jump into the breach and change their news bulletin from 9pm to 10pm. So then BBC things had news in the middle instead! Now it seems that ITV is grabbing its own slot back and showing things around the news again. So, we're worse off than before and now BOTH channels are doing it! Bonkers!

What's to stop them starting films at, say, 8pm or just after? Most films are less than 2 hours long and they could still have the news at 10pm. But, no, they start them at 9pm so they have no option but to split them if they insist on having the news at 10. Bl**dy stupid and insensitive of them.

Like I said, Bonkers! Don't know why they don't do show films earlier. Not only is it too late after the news and we're all a bit tired, but you lose the continuity if there's a half-hour gap in the middle - it spoils all the atmosphere of the film, imo.
