It's been out since 2018 but it's now on Iplayer.

What a watch though. It's slow and claustrophobic and frustrating and the end is sudden. But you can't help but have all the feelings for that family.

Yes I have - I thought it was excellent and it stayed with me a long time (caught it on an aeroplane a couple of years ago). Sarah Greene was brilliant in it. Not much happens but the story was absorbing. Made me weep

Yes, absolutely nothing happens, but it was riveting. And heartbreaking. Sarah Greene was amazing.

No. When was this on Tele?

Sparklingbrook · 28/06/2021 07:50

It's on BBC Iplayer at the moment.

I've just watched it - it was so sad. And shows you how not much has changed since the Cathy Come Home era, 50+ years ago. In fact things have just got worse.

It was the relentlessness of it all - she couldn't look for permanent accommodation because she spent all day looking for somewhere to stay that night.

I think Sarah Greene's great - I didn't know what it was about but recognised her and thought I'd give it a go.

She was great as Connell's Mum in Normal People.

That's exactly it. Relentless. that list of numbers. Sad

Watching now. Like others have said, relentless. She must be permanently knackered.

Yes I watched twice here in Ireland on rte. Its slow but shockingly real. I love Sarah Greene

I was kind of hoping for a different ending if I’m honest. But I think that was the point wasn’t it?

I can’t remember the ending but I know it was uneventful. I liked the fact she and her partner were tight as a couple and that she was a great mother. Not sure why her and her mother weren’t speaking. It’s a shame it didn’t have more of a story - could have been a series. Sarah Greene is excellent in it - and she was great in Normal People and Dublin Murders.

The ending was quite abrupt. And left me with questions.
Presumably they were paying rent fine up until the landlord sold up and her partner had a job.

I think she said he'd sexually abused her. It came out when he died. But the mum didn't believe her. At least that's what I got from it. Cos the mum was adamant he was a brilliant dad to her and saying she was making up stories about him now he's died so that's what I inferred from it

Sarah Greene used to go out with Aiden Turner ( Poldark ). Imagine the babies !
