It’s S1E9 of Next in Fashion on Netflix I think. The dress is not that similar imo. It has a plain top and a patchwork denim bottom that looks a bit like mountains.

It was the piecework of the denim combined with the backstory about saving the oceans - both very similar or at least similar enough for me to watch last nights episode and think 'it's not as original as Patrick thinks it is'

I almost feel like Damien's playing us!

His outburst at the end last night was hilarious!

I think he is as surprised as the rest of us that he is still in it and is enjoying every second.

To be fair, very few ideas will be completely original. They will usually be based on tweaking something you've seen before or an image.

Hated the whale on the dress. The dress was great without it.

I love Damien. Absolutely love him.

Riccardo (Rifallo on Instagram) made an ocean themed ball gown in the 2019 series which was completely unwearable and cost him the final IMO. Rafe's dress was much better and I would wear it.

Something about Damien rubs me up the wrong way. I'm surprised he is still there. He surely has to go next week.

I think Damien is quite harmless. He is just annoying!

I have a NDN like this... he's probably the sort that would do anything for you but my god, is he annoying!
He never shuts up, he has an answer for everything, he thinks he is a music afficionado better than anyone in the world, he brags about every single little thing he's done in his life (I've been to Tenerife, he's been to Elevenerife), he name drops continually and so on... but he is harmless.
Damien reminds me of him big time.

I thought Damien was toast when Esme gave him a bollocking for his untidiness. Didn’t Joe give him a gentle hint a couple of episodes ago? I suppose having lots of crap on the floor isn’t safe for the film crew.

I quite like Damien because he doesn't take himself too seriously and I just don't find him that annoying. I bet he's a nightmare to live with though, if that mess around his workspace is anything to go by.

Someone on here said that he only survives because he's good at the one thing that you can practice, which I think is a bit unfair. They all have the chance to practice, but he is always better than the worst person. Saying all that I don't think he will survive next week, unless someone has a complete disaster.

It was right that Adeena left this week.

Oh and Raph's was amazing. You have to be seriously good to get that finished on time.

I like Damien too. He might not be the best sewer but I think he seems like a really nice guy.

He probably would drive you mad if you lived with him. I bet he is the sort who, when he gets a flat pack anything to assemble, doesn't bother with the instructions properly just looks at the diagram. Maybe that is a male thing - instructions are for wimps just like asking directions is not something a real man does!

He probably won't stay until the final because there are more than three sewers who are definitely better than him, but I have been pleased to see him stay so far

Yes, Damian's grown on me over the weeks, I find him funny. He is always cheerful, doesn't take himself at all seriously and I love it when he says things like "I think it's going to be a skirt type thing or a dress thingy". I am sure he is as amazed as the rest of us that he is still here, and I think next week will be his last week.

I love Joe, he makes me laugh and the whole programme has a feel good vibe for me, I absolutely adore it and sit with a big grin on my face the whole way through. The fact that The Repair shop is on just before makes Wednesday evenings live tv essential viewing for me.

When Adeena said she thought she still deserved to be there earlier on, I thought, well love you're the only one who does 😂.

I think Damien has deserved to stay so far because he's solid enough when he's practiced, plus he doesn't panic when it all goes wrong. Depending on theme Andrew could be at risk as he doesn't seem to get "fit" on the made to measure and Damien seems better at that side of things.

I like Serena and Raef, they seem to have a good feel for what will work and are good at technique. Farie could crash and burn somewhere but hopefully she makes the final.

Fit problems seem to be a general theme for most of them though.

I don't th ink there has been an occasion when I think Damien should definitely have gone over the other person. On a couple of occasions it's been close but he's generally been ahead by a whisker.

I subscribe to the dyslexia or similar theory for Damian. He does seem to really struggle with written directions and I get the impression they are slightly more lenient towards him with it.

Adeena definitely the right one to go tonight.

Andrew's dress could have been utterly inspired tonight, but the fit around the waist was just totally in the wrong place.

Serena's was beautiful, although obviously Esme right that the flare needed to be all round rather than just at the sides.

Farie's dress very effective, but I thought fit much worse than they said.

Hated Rebecca's, thought front panel didn't go at all and looked cheap and nasty, although the piecing was beautifully sewn.

I'm another Damien fan, and agree with SoupDragon that there have been weeks where he was close, but not where he should have gone over the one that did. Has always seemed to be the right decision on the day. Couple of niggles on his dress, but it was very wearable.

Will surely be either him or Rebecca next week, don't think she's doing brilliantly either.

Agree with most about the final three being Raef, Farie and Serena. The rest are lacking the flair that these three have. I really love Farie's dress but the fit was a bit off.

I didn't like how both Raef and Serena's dresses flared out the way they did. I can imagine Raef's coming about as a course project. It was well thought out but the whale was too much.

I like Damien's chat too if not the style of his garments.

Rebecca could give farie a run for her money but otherwise agree.

I took a dislike for Damien from the moment he slapped a pattern in the middle of the material and cut around it leaving a huge about of cutoff. This was made worse when we saw he drops things all over the place. Last night's episode didn't help me like him more 🤣

Probably doesn't help that I just don't like and just dont understand why people like the 'cheeky chappy" personality. If it's not clear I'm like Damien to go next week. 😃

Raph has a really good eye for pattens doesn't he, showed when they made the caps and he just seems to hit the mark with it since
