Wow. Can’t believe the bravery of these parents sharing such intimate and possibly heartbreaking moments. Hoping for happy endings.

Amazing that we have the technology to do things like this on the NHS. Fingers crossed for good outcomes.

Sparkleandshine1 · 26/04/2021 21:35

It's absolutely amazing but very emotional. Fingers crossed for all the parents and babies x

jigster01 · 26/04/2021 21:35

The surgeon is so kind ,and Calm ..comes across so very well

Toddlerteaplease · 26/04/2021 21:42

Oh that poor lady. The surgeon is amazing. He looks devastated.

JustDanceAddict · 26/04/2021 21:42

Amazing what they can do. Having congenital problems myself I do wonder if this had been available something could’ve been done neonatly. This is why I’m so interested in these programmes as I was lucky to survive.

jigster01 · 26/04/2021 21:51

Oh gosh that was scary for Randika!

Justdowhatyouweretold · 26/04/2021 22:09

I had to turn over as I knew I would get upset.

What happened to the baby with the lung tumour?

Very emotional viewing. The surgeon was so caring and dedicated

Pigeonpair1 · 26/04/2021 22:31

Mesmerising, if heartbreaking viewing at times. The surgeon is Professor Basky Thilaganathan he was so impressive.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/04/2021 22:45

My heart was in my mouth when they struggled to deliver the head of Radika's baby.

BigFatLiar · 27/04/2021 08:50

Absolutely amazing. Made me cry. That poor woman with identical triplets and only one surviving, having to still birth one.

megletthesecond · 27/04/2021 08:54

Her c-section at the end. I was willing the baby to holler and wriggle.

JustDanceAddict · 27/04/2021 11:15

Same. I’ve had two c/s too so made me double squirm! I hope the mum got some good pain relief after that ordeal (I apparently had morphine as Dh said I was high as a kite after c/s 2?and looked on my notes to see what they’d given me!).
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/04/2021 17:59

Marvellous programme. Very emotional.

Laggartha · 27/04/2021 18:08

I keep seeing this and thinking that the title means "babies who are surgeons".

butterpuffed · 27/04/2021 18:26

Some parts were so sad and others uplifting. I thought the surgeon was amazing, so caring and and a lovely soothing voice for his patients.

Peccary · 28/04/2021 16:40

I have had the privilege of meeting Basky in his research capacity, a really nice guy. He really cares about maternal and foetal health. Planning to watch this, not sure my emotions can take it.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 28/04/2021 17:00

Keep the tissues handy, @Peccary. Sad

Sidge · 28/04/2021 21:31

Gosh that was an emotional watch.

The staff were all so kind and caring. Prof Basky is incredible and so compassionate.

purpleme12 · 30/04/2021 21:53

Oh I didn't realise there was a thread about this!

It was so raw!

Couldn't believe they let them film in their most raw moments.

So sad
That mum with the triplets 😞😞
And I didn't think the baby with dwarfism was going to make it!
But ultimately it was uplifting

Toddlerteaplease · 03/05/2021 23:04

Another very good episode. Happy endings for all this week. Through I couldn't believe the interviewer asked the mother of the triplets, who were in real danger, if she'd start again if it all went wrong. Some of the questions seemed very tactless.

viques · 03/05/2021 23:23

I had never heard of the amniotic band thing. Poor little soul, I am so pleased they saved his foot, though it was obviously just in time judging by the scars it left.

I don’t really understand how they can get inside the womb and do these procedures, why doesn’t the amniotic fluid leak out . Does it just close up and seal somehow when they pull the tubes out.

The triplets were adorable.

oh my gosh they spent £100,000 over 5 years trying to have a baby! that's a lot of money!

purpleme12 · 07/05/2021 22:54

My favourite surgeon is the asian man i can't remember his name. He is just great.
And i love how he says says super it just makes me love him even more.
