Can someone explain the premise of this show please?

Am I right in thinking people can be rewarded, £100k, for deceiving people?

Anyone can be anyone in the circle.

It's literally the whole point of the game.

The first two UK series were far superior to this one though.

Other deceitful games include poker and hide and seek.

Yes, they have to present themselves as either themselves or someone else, it's up,to them.

I just think it's really sad that people can be rewarded for being dishonest. Is this a reflection of our society?

A group of strangers move into a block of flats, create online profiles then meet and communicate with each other online for the duration of the series. Every so often they rate each other in order of who they like most. The top rated become influences and can block their least favourite player. Blocked players are replaced by new players. At the end the player rated most popular wins the money. Because they never meet face to face players can pretend to be someone else if they think they have more of a chance of being popular. Hope that helps.

Blimey you’re really over thinking it,,

It's a game.

You must be terrible at Wink Murder.

BeautifulBirds · 07/04/2021 21:05

I thought the same with Golden Balls. Why does the person who 'steals' after saying they wouldn't, get all the money?

Thanks 😊 I find it all a bit scary that people who catfish get rewarded. But I suppose they do in 'real' life too.

Sometimes the catfishes are great people and very entertaining so you don't actually mind them winning. This series there's a person who is being herself and I really don't want her to win as she's been very nasty. Seriously, it's a great show and a bit of fun, plus the truth always comes out in the end!

Well that’s the prisoner’s dilemma isn’t it? Game theory. It makes interesting TV, I’m not sure it’s much deeper than that.

What's Wink Murder?
It's a playground game involving guile.

RevolvingPivot · 07/04/2021 21:28

It's not always the popular ones that stay in. Sometimes they are rated low as a tactic to get them out.
