Ideas for Saturday night viewing - crime drama perhaps?

Ideas welcome. I like crime drama, preferably not true crime although I have enjoyed sensitively done dramatisations such as The investigation. I have all terrestrial channels on catch up and Netflix and Now TV. Have recently enjoyed Spiral and love scandi noir. I also enjoyed the The Drowning recently and the slightly mad drama with Keeley Hawes, forgotten the name....any suggestions welcome! Love the Discovery of Witches too but have watched them all.

Monster is excellent- scandi and I think Walter Presents.

JazzTheDog · 13/02/2021 20:43

I binged Chicago PD in the first lockdown and am hooked.

goteam · 13/02/2021 21:13

Old episodes of Vera are great but I always gets 10 minutes in and realise it's one I have seen!

I do like the Walter Presents stuff.

Watching the Little Stranger now and seems good so far....

Brokenwood Mysteries.

I would describe it like Midsummer Murders but set in New Zealand .

What about Prime Suspect?

okstretch · 14/02/2021 15:12

You've probably already seen Trapped as you like Scandi crime but if not I strongly recommend it, at least the first series. It's on Prime.

And completely different but if you haven't already seen the Americans, I agree with a pp who has suggested it. It's fabulous.

goteam · 14/02/2021 16:19

I do like Trapped.

All series of Prime Suspect were on Netflix a few years ago and I binged them then!

The Fall was great, if you haven't seen that.

littlemisslozza · 19/02/2021 22:43

Behind her eyes on Netflix
Endeavour and Morse are always good!

The Bay

littlemisslozza · 19/02/2021 22:46

Also, Little Fires Everywhere if it's still on Amazon.

Earlybird00 · 19/02/2021 23:05

I just discovered Top of the Lake with Elizabeth Moss. It is a few years old but very good.

New series alert (may need its own thread)!

Starts sunday 21st on BBC1 with James Nesbitt. Set in Northern Ireland which often seem quite violent.

Fargo. Series not movie.

I wasn’t keen. The movie is one of my all time favourites and I was sceptical. Was persuaded by the family and its brilliant! Rarely, seasons 2 and 3 are even better than 1.

(I’m cringing writing the Americanised terms, but that’s what people say now, I’m told 😁).

Honestly, watch it.

stumbledin · 19/02/2021 23:39

Sorry - just seen the request is for saturday viewing. Wait a week and watch on catch up.

Otherwise if you haven't seen it and it is still available you can work your way through all 8 episodes of Spiral. Best series ever. (First 3 a bit rough but worth sticking with.)

Looks like they are still there www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0072wk9/episodes/guide

Presuming you’ve seen Bodyguard with Kelley Hawes?

Twin on iplayer, Norwegian, amazing scenery
