Mockumentary from Charlie Brooker/Annabel Jones team.
Anyone else watching?

He said in the Guardian it wasn't like an annual screenwipe and he wasn't in it, but content-wise tis similar although I prefer the latter.

Just me then?!
Now I am further in, it's exactly like an annual Screenwipe but global/American as opposed to solely focused on the UK.
Am surprised there has been little publicity on it though - I only knew about it because of Guardian.

Not as good as his Corona Wipe or his annual Wipes but some decent lines and a great cast.

Just finished watching it, I thought it was brilliantly funny!

Inmyownlittlecorner · 27/12/2020 18:20

I want to watch it but DH is on a night shift & he wants me to wait for him!!

LiGlitterBug · 27/12/2020 18:22

Ooh, been looking forward to this purely because of Joe Keery! (Steve from Stranger Things) Planning on watching tonight.

Mooserp · 27/12/2020 19:34

Some very funny parts. Particularly liked the scientist

Faircastle · 27/12/2020 19:54

It had some wry moments but was far more US-centric than I was expecting.

Faircastle · 27/12/2020 20:01

I think the cast was the strongest aspect. Samson Kayo and Leslie Jones were both good. Hugh Grant played the smug historian well, and Lisa Kudrow was perfect in the Kayleigh McEnany type role.

SnowyOwlWan · 27/12/2020 23:46

oh I must watch this, sounds good.

I know about it because it’s been in my browser ads and because they interview him on Radio 4 about it a couple of days ago.

I liked it and felt it was like the previous ‘Wipes but for a trans Atlantic audience.

I could not work out who the historian was. DH didn’t bloody tell me.

I just watched it and honestly I can watch anything, but I found it totally unwatchable!

It almost physically hurt me to watch/listen to it, only left it on for DP but got to the point where I had to leave the room!

Never felt so strongly about something been so bad before and I can't even articulate why Confused

LiGlitterBug · 28/12/2020 12:33

I thought it was really good, kinda missed the Charli Brooker voiceover and his usual wonderful soundtrack, but the humour was still there and the guests were all brilliant. Laughed out loud at some of the lines.
That little bit at the end with the 2021 'reactions' was good too.

WotWouldCJDo · 29/12/2020 07:24

I laughed out loud all the way through. Not quite as caustic as the Wipes, a bit softened for a US audience I thought, but still very good.

Bluewavescrashing · 31/12/2020 15:59

This is really good!
