Just watching this. Very humbling. I hope it is being shown/ watched widely in educational establishments and public venues.

It is desperately sad. I find it very moving how people were able to carry on living after losing their families and friends, but that is the ultimate revenge as it were, to carry on for the sake of those who did not.

The scale of the horror is unimaginable, and how people were able to find any remaining family members again is incredible.

Is this the colourised footage? Where are you watching it and is this it's real name?

CoolCarrie · 27/01/2020 17:00

It’s BBC news channel

Ahh, I was thinking of something else - just found out the proper name "Auschwitz untold: in colour" and it's on More 4 tonight at 9

I've had it on most the afternoon and got 13yr old DS to watch a bit of it. It was a very moving service.

The memorial on BBC two is very moving, and there is a drama on later about children who were moved to the Lake District after they were liberated, it looks very good, and has an excellent cast.

I was watching on the BBC world affairs channel (different time zone, not UK, the title was as I put in my OP.).
I just woke up! Glad to see that similar things are on elsewhere in the world.
All the speakers were directing their words to their grandchildren's generation, warning them, begging them to pay attention and not be indifferent to racism and discrimination. It was very moving.
