What not to Wear

I liked the new format..although still tend to watch it for the end transformation! The woman with triplets was so me (apart from i dont have triplets!) with her lack of self confidence and stories of how clothes effected her confidence at school. Thought the whole programme was inspirational for mothers of toddlers to watch..if only we all had the money and guidence supplied by the show!

What did everyone else think?

I enjoyed it this week; don't often watch it for some reason. How much of a difference was the change with the first woman though?

tamum · 29/09/2004 21:33

(not on in Scotland)

I thought the eighties throwback woman looked SOOO much better at the end!! Just a haircut did wonders, same for the girl with triplets. It was the haircut thatmade the difference!!
Made me laugh when at the end they said that there is no excuse for mum's not dressing well. How about £2000??? Maybe it could be a new payment from the government for young families??!!!Is it just me or every time you go shopping do you end up buying stuff for the kids?

Skate · 29/09/2004 21:35

Thought it was really good. They don't say tts and a*e as much as they used to either! Not so much groping (but I stand to be corrected as I was gassing on the phone at the same time).

Mind you, very few of the mothers with toddlers I know dress so drastically wrong - most of them are pretty trendy!

Great transformations but Sarah's (?) husband could have been a bit more complimentary about her dress!

LipstickMum · 29/09/2004 21:35

Loved it, loved it, loved it! Haven't seen previous series' though, so is all still a bit new to me.

Hulababy · 29/09/2004 21:35

tamum - look Here . It has a profile of both on first page, then press next to see the transformations.

Hulababy · 29/09/2004 21:36

Oh and look here - What not to wear in pregnancy.

hoxtonchick · 29/09/2004 21:36

Err, was i the only one who cried?

tamum · 29/09/2004 21:37

Thank you thank you!!! I've just had a quick glance, you'll not see me for a while now....

futurity · 29/09/2004 21:37

I cried! (blame my pregnancy hormones )

Cried?

Hmmm, I suppose Sarah got a lot more out of it than a new wardrobe.

oh good futurity. i'm not pregnant though!

tamum · 29/09/2004 21:40

Ermm- the picture of Sara on the far right, with the cardi straining across her stomach- that's a good look is it? They're nice clothes, but I'm not so sure about that (no expert though). I like the second from the left best.

Hulababy · 29/09/2004 21:42

I agree tamum. have t o say that the two outfits they showed her on at the end of programme did look great. She wore a dress for a party at the end and looked fab

Prefernot, the trick to making it not hard work is to throw away everything that looks crap. Then you have a vastly reduced wardrobe, so not as much choice, and you look half decent most of the time. You're allowed to keep one crap outfit for gardening/ painting. All part of the de-cluttering mania that has suddenly come upon me.

JoolsToo · 29/09/2004 22:22

Am I alone in thinking half the clothes, whilst better in style, where too tight?

What Sara said about the black outfit before Trinny launched into her was bang on IMO.

Don't get me wrong the overall results were much better but I do think T & S do get it wrong sometimes.

MeanBean · 29/09/2004 22:25

I agree JoolsToo - I know what they mean about not swamping yourself if you're fat, but on the other hand, you don't want a massive belly sticking out either, which is why swamping happens in the first place. Oh for a happy medium...

ChicPea · 29/09/2004 22:33

DRAT, DRAT, DRAT!

I missed it! Did anybody by any chance video it for a saddo in Hampstead?

TIA

moosh · 30/09/2004 13:15

I don't know which one is which but her dress sense can be a bit odd! I think it is Suzanna not Trinny (talking about the smaller one not the tall one!)I too thought that some of the mother with triplets clothes, trousers in particular, although a great change were a little bit too tight. But they both looked great. The 80's woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!! some of her old clothes had me in stitches, it just remonded me of what I wore as a young girl in the 80's. Cannot believe no one really told her the truth about her style of clothes!!!!

dh spent most of the programme grunting at trinny and susannah "how can you tell people what to wear - look at the state of you". Got quite worked up he did !

puddle · 30/09/2004 13:25

Hoxtonchick - I cried too. I think most people can relate to that feeling when you go shopping post baby and don't really know who you are anymore. I think the new format is unneccessarily cruel to the 'rejects' th - they go on tv and have their wardrobes ridiculed and then don't even get 2 grands worth of clothes!
