Prime & Netflix - feeling fragile, gimme some sweet (but not saccharine) gentle movies & shows

Got a lot going on that's stressing me out.

Need stuff to watch that's easy, non offensive, sweet (but not tearjerker), not disturbing/tense, but still engaging and involving.

Does that make sense?

Fluff but good quality fluff?

As examples:
Evan almighty
About time (though that errs towards tearjerker side for me)
Friends
Pitch perfect
Gilmore girls
Hitch
Life as we know it (as about time)
Highway to Heaven
Role models (ok some might find that offensive I didn't)
Best exotic marigold hotel
Downton abbey

So...yea probably a bit schmaltzy but not too much? Schmaltz with an edge?

I wish I could watch
Touched by an Angel
Quantum leap

Call me by your name.
A gorgeous film on Netflix, set in Italy and the scenery is amazing, also has a great soundtrack.

Oh, I didn't realise this was an old thread.
My reccomendation stands though.

Hello, can I bump an oldish thread and ask for more recommendations? @graphista I really hope you are feeling better, but I really would love suggestions that meet your criteria 💐

Graphista · 26/12/2019 21:09

Still trying to find stuff of this type will maybe try some of the suggestions already made

Just watched Worzel Gummidge on tv. It was a nice gentle programme.

The movie Chalet Girls was a nice bit of predictable fluff.

On Netflix, there’s three films, ‘A Christmas Prince’, Royal wedding and royal baby. They’re not going to win any oscars, , but are entertaining and escapism.

There’s a new Little Women film. I watched an older 1978 version which was good. Look out for William Sharner of Star Trek fame. I think there’s been a newer version since then also.
