Just watched this amazing film. Can't believe I've only just discovered it. Anyone else love it?

LOVE it! Makes me cry a lot though! Love Dev Patel!

It's one of those films that you just can't stop thinking about. All the performances are brilliant, especially Sunny Pawar. I'm not a fan of Nicole Kidman usually but her performance was very moving. Of course Dev Patel was great too.

Amazing film, very emotional.

I watched it the night Donald Trump was elected. I wanted to cry for something beautiful, not something ugly.

Agree with PP, I thought about it for a long time afterwards. Particularly the adopted brother who was very damaged and did not "complete" the family such as complicate it, but despite this was loved unconditionally. I'm welling up again just thinking about it!

It's a beautiful film. I've watched it 5 possibly 6 times.

Fantasisa · 07/08/2019 13:15

The child actor in it is such a talent too.

It's a fantastic film and an amazing story.

It's unbelievable that it's based on a true story. I was sobbing at the clips at the end - so glad I was watching it on my own.

It's fabulous, isn't it? I watched it recently and immediately made my DS and DH watch it. The little boy is just incredible.

I love this film too! I'm going to have
to watch it again now!

Loved it, incredible story and really bought home to me what difference being loved in your very early life makes even in difficult circumstances.

I wept at the end.

gabsdot45 · 02/09/2019 19:33

I love this film and the book it's based on is really good read.
I didn't like what they did with his brother in the film though. That wasn't true to the book. Mantosh was much older when he was adopted, I think he was 11 and he was very damaged but they were close family and there is no animosity between the brothers in real life.
My children are adopted and I love to see adoption portrayed so positively.
I sobbed throughout and at the scene where his 2 mothers met at the end I wailed.
