Does anyone else watch this?
It's kinda gross but I can't look away.
Also, I wonder about the medical system, l know it's in the USA so they need medical insurance but some of them have had these awful lumps for years, does insurance not pay if it's not actually causing a health issue?

Love it! No idea about medical insurance tho

Love it. Don't know about the insurance thing but some of the people on that show are in bad shape. So much so that I assumed maybe these are people with no insurance and going on tv means treatment is free?

Insurance will not pay if it is not a medical necessity to remove. I’ve paid out of pocket for all sorts of dermatologist intervention. Sometimes the seem can code it as causing pain or being an infection risk and get it covered. Depends on exactly what and where it is.

Yep love this show.

The woman last night had huge lumps hanging from her ears that had been there for years.
The NHS is far from perfect but that just wouldn't happen here, it shocked me.

Yep I often wonder why so many Americans are against a nhs type of health care scheme

AngeloMysterioso · 26/07/2019 13:58

To be fair I had two cysts on my scalp that I couldn't get dealt with on the NHS as it was a "cosmetic issue". They only sorted them out when they started to hurt.

NewIDNewme · 26/07/2019 14:02

I have several unsightly lipomas but can't go on NHS list unless they impact movement or become painful.
Painless lumps are not treated on the NHS.

Some of the people are afraid of doctors as well as the ones with health insurance that won't cover treatment or don't have health insurance. What I love about her is her enthusiasm for her job. I also like how warm and kind she is to people who have been stared at and laughed at. She also said how she thinks it's not worth mentioning how some of the things smell as the patient felt bad enough already.

She's lovely
