emmatmg · 08/09/2004 20:53

bbc2

Just watched the follow up programme on BBC3..the woman realised she had PND. I sat there with mouth open at first but in the end thought it was very good and a fascinating programme about the stress of parenting toddlers..let alone twins! (and I have thrown my DS's food on the floor before as well!)

stupidgirl · 08/09/2004 21:40

I have to say, if I had been the husband, I wouldn't have walked out of the house and left her alone with the children.

But at least she got help, realised there was something wrong.

At first I thought the same, no way should she be left in charge of them. So glad they are doing follow ups now, they seem so much happier. Had watched this on BBC3 when it first was on and felt really sorry for the dad having to cope with twins and her.

I know exactly how frustrating my ds twins can be sometimes, especially when they work together! Haven't thrown food on the floor though.

stupidgirl · 08/09/2004 22:39

Well, I've never had twins, but one at a time can be challenging enough!

Of course I'm glad things worked out for them, I was just really shocked and sorry for those poor girls.

I didn't watch all of it because I'd seen it before on BBC3. Was the followup after the programme last night or is it a seperate programme on BBC3?

I thought she was a bit cheeky when she told the husband he had to something constructive and paint with the girls. He spent every single day with them on 3 hours sleep for heavens sake. And he was mean when he said that the dd had been kept in hospital. He said it was a joke but it wasn't very funny.

Was this the one where she smashed her dinner all over the floor and tried to take them both out pushing buggies near a main road????

Truly shocking and she did seem in need of help - I didn't see a follow up so glad to hear she is now happier.

JuniperDewdrop · 15/09/2004 20:39

I'm totally gobsmacked

JuniperDewdrop · 15/09/2004 20:41

PND has reared it's ugly head

Pagan · 16/09/2004 10:52

Watched it on BBC 2 last night (15/9) but had to switch over because it was annoying me so much. I don't think it was the same episode that you'd all been watching. This was the one where he worked as a financial adviser and she worked at Stansted Airport with ALL of her take home pay going on child care. Couldn't see the point at all. She's working for nothing just so that she can feel 'me'. She looks after one kid whilst the Dad looks after another, in the same household???

JuniperDewdrop · 16/09/2004 14:36

Yes Pagan that's the one I was talking about. It was sooo sad to watch. I missed the end but made DH watch it and report back he said she went part time in the end.

Pagan · 16/09/2004 14:38

Pants - wished I'd watched the rest of it now. Wow! PND manifests itself in all manner of ways - very interesting
