Can anyone recommend anything? We’ve just watched Our Yorkshire Farm which we both loved and was a great insight into farming. We watch quiz shows but what else might she enjoy? That’s actually a bit educational as well? We have Sky and Amazon Prime.

We like watching Grand Designs and River Cottage reruns

DameSylvieKrin · 15/01/2019 19:40

I don’t know what Prime has but I know there is some overlap with Netflix.
Merlin (the series where Merlin and Arthur are young)
Merli (coincidence about the name, is about a teacher in a high school so there’s a lot of subject knowledge dropped in)
Project Runway offers a lot of insight into designing clothes as well as the week by week competition.

My DD has enjoyed the BBC Back in Time For... programmes. They’re currently doing school, but I’m not sure if the others are on iPlayer.

Junior Masterchef - the American one with Gordon Ramsay is great

Bake Off

Planet Earth

DS(12) and I like Food Factory, How do they do that, Mythbusters, Time Team, GPs behind Closed Doors, and he's addicted to Forged in Fire (which is actually very interesting)

Fantastic! It feels very odd that she is now old enough to watch the programmes I like! Thank you

We've got ours watching the Back in Time for school series. And they all love Death in Paradise.

Stopwoofing · 16/01/2019 14:32

Yes loved back in time for tea, back in time to Victorian working conditions, back in time for school. They should do more of those!

icelolly99 · 16/01/2019 14:36

.... I realise DiP isn't informative but it's one if the programs that I know we'll actually all watch as a family...without other screens distracting them! Grin
Have you tried watching any of the Lego masters or Landscape Artist of the year type programs? We enjoy those too.

TooDamnSarky · 16/01/2019 14:40

the royal institution xmas lectures are fantastic.

TulipsInbloom1 · 16/01/2019 14:42

Dd loves Consumed. It's a hoarder/clear out tv show on Netflix. It brings up some interesting conversations between us on division of labour, emotional attachment to things, mental health etc

Stopwoofing · 16/01/2019 14:48

oh yes, rich house, poor house was another interesting conversation starter. There is the odd bit of swearing in some of them.

Cherrypie32 · 16/01/2019 15:49

Mine likes Lego Masters, Saving Lives At Sea, the new one about the Red Arrows on C5, any Planet Earth, Dragons Den, Cake Wars (bit trashy but fun)

A4Notebook · 16/01/2019 18:59

We started Back in Tine for school last night which was a hit. Thank you

MrTumblesSpottyBum · 17/01/2019 22:18

We all enjoy Ben Fogle's New Lives in the Wild (occasional swear word Smile).

moocowmrs · 17/01/2019 22:20

We love Inside the factory and the travel man series is good as well.

Owletterocks · 17/01/2019 22:25

Secret life of the zoo? Mine are younger but I love that they are starting to enjoy family shows now like dancing on ice.

BikeRunSki · 17/01/2019 22:27
