I justify it on the basis that Lisa is a very good role model for the Inferiorettes.

Totally agree mi! Loads of good role models in it - the idea that police are not always sensible and sane, embracing ethnic minorities, seeing that being an SAHM has huge upsides and downsides - I could go on and on

Well, all three want to go and see the film (have to check the classification first mind you) so it's quite likely that DD (3.5) will be going to the cinema to see the Simpson Movie. DCs have grown up watching Simpsons, and they're relatively well adjusted (coped well with watching Buffy from an early age too)

I thought we were the only ones. DD (now 3) loves the 'Sipsons', though like a previous poster we turn over v quickly when itchy and scratchy come on! Don't watch it every night but can be nice to cuddle up on sofa after bath and before stories with a Simpsons episode.

it doesn't bother me now, but it might by the time he is 7, as he might 'get' more about it.

I remember mortifying my parents at a very young age, describing to a favorite uncle an episode of "Steptoe and Son" I had watched the night befor, where Harold is chasing his dad around threatening to make 'Goolie stew'.

I thought this to be the very summit of wit and hilarity, and wouldn't shut up about it for a long long time.
