Are the discoveries in The Big Bang Theory based on real discoveries? Or are they completely made up? I was wondering when watching the wedding episode.

I don’t know, but I do know thy have an on-set scientist who checks the scripts to make sure the science works and the boards are accurate.

All the science in it is real, they have a consultant scientist all the way through. They’re really particular about getting it right, even the equations on blackboards in the background are correct.

Yes but actual big discoveries? The ones that change science in the Big Bang Theory world, have they happened in the real world and are attributed to the characters for the purpose of the show?

I have found an article about it it says:
Is that an actual discovery or is this all made up for TV?

It's all theoretical. Conceptually, it is an interesting theory that no one has talked about before. Now does that mean it's a true theory? That's probably hard to say.

That's talking about super asymmetry
whole article

My bil is a lecturer in astrophysics. He watches it and has yet to spot an inaccuracy despite trying his hardest. His hobby is writing to newspapers/ tv shows to complain about mistakes.

The science is very accurate, as people have said they have someone from CalTech to do the equations and check the scripts. It's all theoretical physics so it doesn't need a practical application.
