I can't even watch this tripe. I'd rather be ignorant to the existence of some of these people tbh!

I am so bored of these kind programmes where everyone knows the outcome and only watch it for the agro!

I;d rather keep watching Victoria Wood in African trip!

Sorry to spoil the end for you but they are all going to scream horrid things to each other! Boooooooring!

emsiewill · 07/05/2007 16:51

Well, actually they didn't scream horrid things at each other (at least not on the prog - didn't watch "the aftermath" prog).

They all (wife and husband and pole-dancing mother) said they had learnt from it, and all changed some things about their lives following the experience.

I do normally watch these things going , but at the end of this I was more like . Good to see people who are willing and able to learn from their experiences.

suzycreamcheese · 07/05/2007 16:59

emisiemill...thats true it was one of the ones where both families seemed to benfit...

..she was a shocker though....thought our family as male 'orientated' ...nothing like this though!!!
and her son had girlfriend with a baby on the way...whilst he was still treated like one himslef!....

emsiewill · 07/05/2007 17:03

Yes, I think the attitude to men was more down to her insecurities than his ingrained male chauvinism - he seemed quite willing to help once he started.

Not sure what will happen to her daughters though, hope they learnt something from it as well.

I watched it with my dd1 (aged 10) and she just found that attitude incomprehensible - she said "everyone should share everything equally", which makes me glad that the way me & dh operate is setting her and dd2 the example we want.

suzycreamcheese · 07/05/2007 17:17

emsiewill, agree,

....thats what made it sad, 21 years of mother (and daughter) drudergy when they could have been sharing and enjoying some free time togethe....

and also ..agree if you live in a house, you help no matter who you are...your dd is spot on!
