I'm not ashamed to say I managed to squeeze a couple of tears out of my stony heart for dead George.

Nice though that he got his Maximus Decimus Meridius moment and was reunited with Mrs George.

Me too Squoosh. I also thought of Gladiator (presume that’s your reference). All the George Gently series have had great emotional significance for me so I found that very moving.

Did hope that Bacchus and Rachel might get together in the end!

Yes, it was MS, and unlike now there wasn't much that could be done about it in the 60s. I don't understand why they suddenly seemed to drop the storyline, though - a lot was made of his symptoms in the last series, but he seemed to make a miraculous recovery in this one!

People who have MS can have long periods of good health between relapses.
