Now I know it's only a kids programme BUT why does Granny Murray look after kids overnight? Do you know any childminders who regularly do that? Also how did Bobbi manage to get a mechanic to come out at 11pm to mend the leaky bus? And the q which no one seems to be able to resolve. Why is she called Granny when she's clearly not old enough???

can only answer one for you, im a cm and i do reg overnights

nailpolish · 22/03/2007 12:33

the question is not whether its wierd that a cm takes children overnight or not, its what the hell Bobbi is doing collecting Kai in the morning, she should leave him at the cm and go home to her bed and collect Kai later

i work nightshift and believe me, the last thing you want to do after a nightshift is spend a day looking after children. when does Bobbi get to go to bed?

(ps the reason granny murray is a granny is they had an older actress to originally play the part, but she pulled out after the pilot)

DS (2) hid his face in the sofa this morning -he really does not like the bit where Granny Murray answers the door and says "Hello Honey Pie, come away in".

As soon as shes said that bit he'll come out from hiding and happily watch the programme.

Re: this mornings episode and the "mysterious" oil that was appearing on the floor which confused Bobbi ...FFS its a bus garage so surely the source of the oil is pretty obvious! DOH! Doesn't take a genius to work that out does it? Can't get the staff these days.......

Maybe she does what I do - and works her nights apart - ie I worked last night - have spent today (and all of yesterday LOL) awake and looking after the DS's - shall sleep tonight - and then repeat the process by working tomorrow (Friday) night.

ooh nailpolish and fannyanny you both have my sympathy, how on earth you work nightshift and look after kids amazes me, you must be super mums along with Bobbi. So pleased to finally have the "granny" issue resolved too

Supermum - ermm I dont' think so........I'm using the excuse of being pg to spend most of the mornings vegging out on the sofa while DS2 watches TV

deaconblue · 22/03/2007 19:16

Not as bad as me - I was mumsnetting yesterday while ds happliy amused himself...

ooops LOL.

Thanks for the "granny" explanation. Have had way too many 'tumbleweed moments' at toddler groups when I start ranting about that programme and how can they call her a granny when she's about 10 years younger than me and my DS is only 2...
