My friend is learning English and wonders what the bolded quote means - I have no idea as I don't watch the programme - can anyone advise please?! Grin Is it a joke?!

00:09:26 Not good.

00:09:27 Ran over an IED in Hellmans.

00:09:29 Lasted a whole week before he hit room temperature.

00:09:32 Rest in peace.

00:09:33 Tough son of a bitch.

I haven't seen the programme but the bolded quote suggests the person was cold (i.e. unemotional)

fruitbats · 19/06/2017 12:36

Or maybe just physically cold?

Saucery · 19/06/2017 12:36

They monitor people constantly, that's what the time stamps are.

Saucery · 19/06/2017 12:37

If it was a deep frozen body that could explain it

sunglassesonmyhead · 19/06/2017 12:38

Sounds good to me, thank you!

Flippin' love MN, I do Grin

It's the other way round: cooling not warming, and they are saying that he died, once you hit room temp you are dead.

Presumably this was preceded by a question about someone?
'Any news of X?'
'Not good, he ran over an improvised explosive device in Helmand, survived for a whole week, Rest in peace, Tough SOB (impressed at surviving so long in face of horrible injuries).

I think your version makes more sense Water

fannyanddick · 19/06/2017 13:09

Yes so room temperature not body temperature means he's dead and no longer controlling his own temperature.

Saucery · 19/06/2017 17:02

Oh, of course! It's like Raymond Chandler dialogue. I had in my head the way they do that tracking thing and it was different people. I loved that programme, must try to catch up Grin
