I have watched all episodes bit still don't get a few things. Please help! Why did Tim buy all the power tools and have balaclava man outfit if he was inocent ? The pregnant officer who got the pass word from Jamie was the one who got the dying confession video for Hilton so how come Jamie ended up a baddie? Surely if he was a baddie get wouldn't have need his pass words? Did I miss something?

My understanding is, Tim was going to try and make it look like balaclava man did it so he wouldn't be framed for it (unless he is actually one of the multiple balaclava men Jimmy alluded too when he was arrested).

Jamie was exploited by Hilton to get Jimmy out of AC12 custody. He was an easy one to pick because he left / was pushed out because of the password breach.

I think Confused .

I concur with Storm.

It's odd though. The first point does suggest a pretty cold conniving aspect to Tim Ifield – he panicked enough to think Roz was dead, and to think the only way out was to dismember and dispose of her body, but remained cool enough to buy clothes to make him look like BM and to prep the scene so it wouldn't leave a mess.

And the James thing – I do think now that he only became involved with Hilton after and because he was resentful at his treatment by AC-12, but at the time I thought he was already a bad 'un because, when challenged by Ted Hastings about the snooping, he seemed suspiciously quick to flounce out of there.

SapphireStrange · 02/05/2017 18:24

I mean Jamie, obviously. Making Ted's mistake. Grin

I acne's for the life of me work out why Roz didn't just call the police after she killed Tim.

Surely it was clear self defense and he had all the equipment for dismembering her on the ready, so she had no need to cover it up.

SapphireStrange · 02/05/2017 18:53

I know, Chardonnay! In her confession she said it just kind of happened, and that she knew how hard it was to prove self-defence, so I guess we have to go with that. I was a bit Hmm too though.

I think the next series will say Ted Hastings is corrupt... Removing his picture from the list of suspected officers? If he was innocent surely he'd have an independent team investigate and declare him not the big leader H?

SapphireStrange · 02/05/2017 19:06

I don't see that he can be big H – Hilton was senior to him; surely the big baddie has to be very very high up?

StorminaBcup · 02/05/2017 19:53

I always found it odd that AC-12 and Roz both reported into the same boss. Or at least Hilton had enough power to stop AC-12. Surely there'd be some hierarchical segregation especially if you're investigating one of your own?

SchrodingersKitten · 02/05/2017 20:27

I thought it very unsatisfactory.

Even the most unrealistic Agatha Christie whodunnits tell us that a murderer needs opportunity AND motive.

The murders in this season of LOD mostly fail that test.

fatbottomgirl67 · 02/05/2017 20:28

Thanks all. That makes sense. I do wonder if they will fill us in on the some of the missing links in the next series. When Hastings took his photo down it did make me think no not him too but after all that's happened in the past series he can't be involved can he?

I was a bit disappointed in this. I'm not sure if there was too much intrigue or genuine plot holes.

I agree with the pp about Tim's apparently cool preparation despite being panicked enough to not realise Roz was dead.

Hilton turned into a pantomime baddie waaay too quickly, and without adequate characterisation as did Jimmy. A bit of a waste, I thought.

I'm still Confused at how Tim's dna was planted on Leonie without anyone-including Rupal-twigging something was up.

I thought the character development in general was poor. Hsstings' overt sexism was odd and clunky. Kate was so bad undercover that it beggars belief. Farmer's lawyer was so bad he was cartoonish. And Maneet-wtf? There was no lead-up to that.

There was too much suspended belief for my liking. The previous series were all much more believable. This one seemed a bit daft; perhaps dumbed - down a bit for BBC1?
