Anyone watching? A stunning insight into the running of a busy London hospital. Cannot believe the amount of time highly skilled doctors are forced to waste waiting for beds to become available. And the poor man with oesophageal cancer who's operation was cancelled for the second time. Wow. NHS is at breaking point!

In order to get a Schengen visa people have to show they travel insurance as part of the visa procedure. Its a very simple procedure, my children do it, so just why someone requiring a visa for the UK doesn't have to do the same is beyond me.

Anyone see last night's episode? I found it so frustrating the hoops some of the consultants have to go through just to operate on their patient. I had no idea they had to advocate on their behalf so much.

Thought the live kidney transplant fantastic what a great gift to give someone and a great initiative to help out people on the transplant list.

Thought the gastro consultant carrying out the gastric band ops made a good argument for the benefit of them.

All in all thought it was a great series and compelling insight into the pressures and challenges the NHS faces on a daily basis. A lot of things to consider going forward.

The consultant made a good argument but I do get pissed off with people not taking responsibility for their own health and looking for a quick fix. I actually know two people who have had these operations privately. I had never seen either consistently follow a sensible diet, preferring gimmicky things like the cabbage soup and certainly never went near a gym. Both did the op and lost a significant amount of weight. However they both regained weight as they found high calorie treats they could eat with out being filled up, like milkshakes.

Yes exactly which is why an operation is not the simple solution the surgeon was presenting.
