So, Pam. Do you ever get back to the future? Moreover, do you ever get to wear something other than the black leather jacket?

PamPann · 13/02/2007 22:22

Hate to spoil it for you, Norks.

scampadoodle · 13/02/2007 22:24

C'mon...SOMEone must have taped it - or is it all Sky+ these days (that's what got me into this mess). I'll pay postage!!!! [Sob emoticon with desperation writ large]

thethirdwisemonkey · 13/02/2007 22:24

I love this programme, it's the only thing me and DH watch. You're surrounded by armed bastards fab!!!

Ready · 13/02/2007 22:28

Lucycat, no, I'm just North of Manchester, but recognised various places and roadnames throughout the series. Was a lot of it actually shot in Stockport then?? Some good friends live in Reddish.

NorksBrideOHara · 13/02/2007 22:32

That's very conscientious of you Pam. But are you able to reveal if the girl from the old test card will be making another appearance? I do so love to see her endless noughts&crosses game.

florenceuk · 13/02/2007 22:32

sorry I've got this but on hard drive ie can record to DVD but not tape. thought though there was too much head clutching and worried Sam will ruin his reputation - does the rate go down in the next episode?

scampadoodle · 14/02/2007 12:33

Ooh, florenceuk, does that mean if I sent you a DVD you could download it for me? (or upload, whatever). Or does that have to be done at the time of recording IYSWIM?

florenceuk · 14/02/2007 19:20

if it's a recordable DVD I can record it - try DVD-R, this seems to work on most machines. I take no responsibility though if it doesn't work! CAT me if you want it.

RedTartanLass · 15/02/2007 19:52

ok who is the saddest? RTL googling to try and find a spoiler to find out how Life on Mars ends (didn't find anyting BTW)

or the bloke (I'm assumimg it's a bloke) who wrote this? This is just a snip it!!

The first of these anachronisms is in episode one, occurring after Sam Tyler wakes up in 1973. On a building site for the Mancunian Way, Sam looks at a sign proclaiming the building of a new motorway at the heart of Manchester. In reality, this motorway was completed in 1967. Another anachronism is Sam's dual-display LCD watch. In 1973 the only widely available digital watches used red light-emitting diodes, which required the press of a button to light them. LCDs did not become common until much later. A watch like Sam's, with both a face and an LCD display, would not have been available until the 1980s.

Pixel · 15/02/2007 20:04

Yes and apparently the red phone in the pub wouldn't have been available for a couple of years. I've read some stuff like that too. Some saddos watch it just to see if they can spot a cctv camera or satellite dish in the background LOL.

beansprout · 15/02/2007 20:08

Has anyone ever seen John Simm in anything where he didn't wear a black leather jacket and stride around a lot?!

(Hi Florence! )

Fubsy · 15/02/2007 20:35

Loved the bit when gene Hunt was knocked down and when he got up he still had a fag in his mouth!

charlieq · 15/02/2007 20:42

I missed it because of a bl**dy power cut. Does anyone know if a repeat is scheduled? Or if they're in SE London I will pay hard cash for a vid/DVD copy!!

UnquietDad · 27/02/2007 12:51

I'm sure lots of you will be delighted to know LoM is NOT ON tonight because of some football or other.

slalomsuki · 27/02/2007 12:54

Surely he will wake up in 2006 but have the WPC at his bedside

ScummyMummy · 27/02/2007 12:54

How could they?

UnquietDad · 27/02/2007 12:56

Vety easily, I'm afraid.
I look forward to the day a football match is cancelled for quality drama...

Even if it's an important game, it doesn't need to be on BBC1.

southeastastra · 27/02/2007 12:56

still on bbc4 though

that's really bad of bbc who cares about football

UnquietDad · 27/02/2007 13:00

I think the BBC4 is a repeat of last week's.

Lots of people care about football, to be fair, but then again lots of people care about "Life On Mars"! Why not shunt the football to BBC2?

southeastastra · 27/02/2007 13:04

yes my dp cares about the football, i was being flippant.

bbc4 is episode 1/8 on the website what are they playing at??

nikkie · 27/02/2007 13:05

Grrr

southeastastra · 27/02/2007 13:10

oh yes i suppose if the next episode is cancelled tonight, then they can't show the new one on bbc4 (i know i'm waffling)

UnquietDad · 27/02/2007 14:17

Have conversed with a more sporty man than I, who tells me that a) it's an FA Cup replay and the BBC are "contractually obliged" to show any FA match on BBC1, and b) it was going to be on Wednesday but Alex Ferguson threw his dummy out of the cot because they are playing on Saturday.

(I know, it doesn't make sense to me either. I'm not coming in to work on Friday because I've got to work again in two days' time.)

turquoise · 27/02/2007 21:08

Gutted
Just settled down on the sofa for this. Bastards.
