What's happening with Phil? He's been in hospital for a few weeks yet not seen him. Apart from Shirely making odd comment.

Wonder how they manage if he dies, Sharon her kid and Ben and sister all supposed to carry on living there?

Or will we see him looking bill of health and back on wagon?

NuggetofPurestGreen · 08/10/2016 23:56

Well is Ben still giving him his liver?

Akire · 09/10/2016 00:05

He had to have 6m free first so not sure if he will make it or not. No idea long term if he's staying.

EnidButton · 09/10/2016 00:25

They wouldn't kill Phil off surely.

lottieandmia · 09/10/2016 00:35

Sorry! I didn't realise.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 09/10/2016 02:22

He wasn't drinking this time, it was stated in dialouge the episode after that his on the sofa behaviour was due to blood posioning and not alcohol.

I'm not sure how long he's been sober for.

lottieandmia · 09/10/2016 06:04

I don't think they will kill Phil off because Denise is pregnant with his baby. They will surely want to make the most of that storyline?

celeste83 · 09/10/2016 09:21

I wish they would kill of Phil. His character is past its sell by date now. Phil was all about being a tough guy, now he can't even walk from the living room to the kitchen without keeling over. Shadow of his former self. Bring back Jay and Mark and make them with Ben the new tough guys (although they will all need to bulk up a bit).

NuggetofPurestGreen · 09/10/2016 11:57

Yep Phil had an infection and they all felt guilty for thinking he was boozing.

I hope Jay hasn't left for good.

Iwantacampervan · 09/10/2016 12:56

I don't think they will kill Phil off because Denise is pregnant with his baby. They will surely want to make the most of that storyline?

Or they kill off Phil, Denise has the baby and then contests the will for a share in The Arches etc for her son/daughter.
Disclaimer - I can't remember what Phil still owns but he must have money plus I'm not an expert in legal matters (but when has that stood in the way of a good story line?)

lottieandmia · 09/10/2016 16:18

She wouldn't be able to do that unless Phil was on the birth certificate imo. And Phil has other children not to mention a wife.

lottieandmia · 09/10/2016 16:19

I find it confusing how Grant seems to be in and out of it. I thought he was coming back permanently?

Jasonandyawegunorts · 09/10/2016 16:21

Nah it wasn't permanent, it was "slotting a few days filming in between doing other work." For peggy's death.

lottieandmia · 09/10/2016 22:43

Oh I see - i suppose Ross Kemp has a lot of other work.

celeste83 · 09/10/2016 22:58

Ross Kemp has moved onto bigger and better things. Perhaps EE needs to clearout the Mitchell clan altogether and start afresh. The whole family is living on past glories that just aren't there anymore. Trying to flog a dead horse springs to mind.

Akire · 09/10/2016 23:10

So agree! It's like from dark ages. Only thing left is Ronnie maybe she could set up some bored house wife rent a killer agency for annoying husbands? What else does she do all day? No job nor Jack.

Just reminded self about Fatboy do you think every get cone back for that? Will Dot ever notice no more postcards?

Florathefern · 10/10/2016 00:56

I remember a scene where Dot was bemoaning the lack of postcards but someone mumbled something about how FatBoy must be having great fun wherever he is supposed to and that was the last of the cards

I don't understand why Lee's 'occupation'. He was a soldier, left and worked in the pub, left to work on the fish stall and is now back working in the pub. All of which works out kinda until we remember Nancy left the Squaare which means her job was up for grabs. Shirley mentioned recently she was helping out doing a few day shifts although she usually just does evening shifts. Why is she helping out when Lee could take on the extra shifts instead of looking for other work especially when all of Nancy's shifts are available. Or surely if it came down to finances, they would give Tracey's job to Lee?

I think about these things too much

EnidButton · 10/10/2016 02:01

There must be a reason they want Lee job hunting and short of money. (The writers I mean not his family.) It's definitely heading towards something bad. Just can't work out what.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 10/10/2016 02:29

Flora Don't forget that when Nancy left Johnny came into the show, she he'd probably have some of her shifts too.

Florathefern · 10/10/2016 02:32

Johnny is too busy catching up on a year's missed work and passing his exams and organising hen parties and attending court hearings to work.

Akire · 10/10/2016 09:24

Plus mik Linda have to spend some time with Ollie so need someone! hrs bound to get job in new dry cleaners right?

qazxc · 10/10/2016 11:30

If Lee is at a loose end, why isn't he helping look after Sylvie?

celeste83 · 10/10/2016 12:08

pmsl at the thought of Lee caring for Sylvie Grin

I've alway wondered how the Queen Vic survives on its trade to be honest. These days pubs need to offer either decent food offering (I don't think of The Vic as a nice eating place; eating on a table whilst you have the locals a few feet away having their dirty laundry/scandals aired out in public. I've certainly not seen anyone from outside the square eating in there) or live music in order to bring in revenue. They don't even show live sports on a big screen. Most landlords also have jobs elsewhere and do the pub bit in their spare time, not have the pub as the one and only job supporting God knows how many family members. The Vic never seems busy with drinkers either. How does it survive?

HarryPottersMagicWand · 10/10/2016 21:19

Sad Gutted they went down the miscarriage route for Whitney. Sadly predictable, she was waayyy too happy and Linda was knitting stuff early, but really sad. I can't remember the last time someone was so genuinely overjoyed at being pregnant in EE.

EnidButton · 10/10/2016 21:24

Despite my flippant comments about it not ending well for Whitney and Lee, I wasn't prepared for that. Feel very ugh now.
