Yes they were great last night. Also agree with a P.P that Lin Blakey (Pam) should have been brought in years ago.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/09/2016 15:35

Surely a son would be a better match then a nephew

OP posts:
Florathefern · 21/09/2016 15:54

Why would Mark who has zero relationship with his biological father's family want to donate part of an organ to an uncle he doesn't know he has?

I know he has been portrayed as a nice guy but that is a bit over and beyond the call of duty even for EE!

My bet is Louise will be a match.

SoupDragon · 21/09/2016 18:16

Stop getting all sensible and realistic.

This is Eastenders.

LineyReborn · 21/09/2016 18:33

Flora, I recall in Bad Girls that it was possible for prisoners to become prison governors and vice versa.

EnidButton · 21/09/2016 20:27

He was moving in with a prison officer called Helen. Now there was a missed opportunity for a juicy storyline if ever I heard one. Grin

NuggetofPurestGreen · 21/09/2016 23:02

This moving up north story is a bit shit anyway, on the home-buying front. You couldn't run a home anywhere selling a few whelks and sulking.

True but wasn't the idea that they'd share with Ryan and his new prison officer missus and so only have to pay half of £750 a month? Good deal.

LineyReborn · 21/09/2016 23:21

Nugget, so that's a fiver a day net profit selling whelks and wandering about buying tea and snacks in the caff, = £130 pcm (being generous), plus a Sulking Bonus of about another £100 pcm (also known as occasional vague bar work having realistically deducted an amount for food, bills and lodgings whilst wearing a face like a slapped arse - Lee - or doing a deranged tinkly laugh - Whitney).

Wouldn't even touch the sides in Yorkshire.

They'll have to go to Middle Earth, it's the only way.

IT IS ALL REAL

NuggetofPurestGreen · 21/09/2016 23:26

Ha!!! I suppose I was imagining they might get actual jobs up in Wakefield. Or Ryan's missus would sub them all...

LineyReborn · 21/09/2016 23:31

Lee has The Whelk ingrained in his hair DNA now. And Whitney is to have Baby Whelk.

Whitby beckons. Hopefully.

AlasEarwax · 22/09/2016 00:07

Pam and les are moving to my town! I'll be sure to pass on all of your regards if I bump into them, strolling along the prom!

Florathefern · 22/09/2016 01:13

Yes prisoners become officers if they are taking part in the Stanford Prison Experiment Hmm

EnidButton · 22/09/2016 01:23

Tinkly laugh - Whitney

Shock That's it! That's what gets on my tits about her. That bloody giggly airhead laugh thing she does. Mystery solved.

MagpieCursedTea · 22/09/2016 09:39

Flora Grin

Florathefern · 22/09/2016 10:42

Agree about Tinky's laugh. She reminds me of my SIL with her silly giggling.

For me Whitney's character is too inconsistent. The writers pulled her in too many directions and she has ended up being nondescript.

They have her wavering around doing and saying very little, she seems anxious to belong yey eavesdrops on conversations and repeats them. At other times she comes across as a strong character ie when she tackled Babe about Abi's fake pregnancy and she was initially strong about leaving Lee etc.

Overall she doesn't come across as nice, a villian, a victim, young or old and she is overwhelmingly whinge(y) but not even in a pantomime funny way which makes her hard to warm to as a character.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 22/09/2016 15:32

Things I demand answers to right now.

Paul's mum - why was she brought back?
Mark Fowler Junior and Courtney - why cast those roles, bring them both in, just for them to disappear again?
And why go to all the trouble of recasting Johnny just - to do nothing. Nothing.
Andy the insanely gorgoeus builder. FFS, Eastenders, he was the ONLY man worth looking at on the square - you bring him in, give him a storyline that goes nowhere and serves no purpose, then write him out.
The bins. Just - WTF?

I would be very happy to see Kellie bright go on maternity leave NOW if it means a little respite from Linda the Terrifying Control Freak. What does Mick see in her??

SoupDragon · 22/09/2016 15:49

I wonder if they started the storyline with Paul's mother before making the decision to kill him off?

SoTheySentMeA · 22/09/2016 18:21

I think the storyline with Paul's mother was started and then something happened which hasn't been disclosed and the actor had to be sacked so they couldn't take the story any further.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/09/2016 18:36

I like to think the new producer told Treadwell-Collins he had plans for Paul. Then Treadwell-Colins, being the mustache twearling supervillian of my imagination, killed Paul off the next day, laughing to himself as he did it.

He probably tied at least one script writer to the railways tracks too, hoping they'd get flatterned by the CGI express.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/09/2016 18:37

By the way, Sotheysentmea's link above is about way's the producers have hidden baby bumps, nothing spoilery.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 22/09/2016 20:57

Yes Linda is properly getting on my tits lately. Surely it cannot be beyond the realms of possibility that a grown up child might move out! Surely not! Won't someone please think of the children here. She is such a control freak and desperate to keep all her children under the same roof. They have to leave sometime. I don't blame Whitney for wanting to get away at all.

LineyReborn · 22/09/2016 22:55

Tinkly Whitney and Lee-Laa just need to breed Ditsey and Po and we've got the set.

EnidButton · 23/09/2016 00:45

I liked that episode too. Starting to feel hopeful about the new producer. I was very dubious last week but I suppose there's an adjustment period.

Whitney didn't annoy me either. Shock

That consultant had the world's most soothing voice.
