Phil flushed Ian's head down the toilet years ago, I think tonight was showing Ben to be his fathers son. Horrible.

LineyReborn · 11/04/2016 23:14

That scene was so badly written and directed. The character Ben degrades a young woman and no-one steps in, with all the family connections and backstories buzzing about?

celeste83 · 11/04/2016 23:52

I'm sorry if the scene was a bit too close to home for some but Louise has been a bitch since she has come back and is commiting fraud and she got her commupence. Abi too has been lying about being pregnant and blamed her father in law for killing a baby that did not exist and Ben had every right to be angry with her too. Just because they are woman does not make them imune from facing upto their actions as harsh as they were. I too thought that tonight was showing that Ben is not unlike his father as both those parts were very much like something Phil would have done in the same situation. It was bizarre at the end when Johnny just walked in front of Ben and Abi mid flow of Ben on stage having his say.

Akire · 12/04/2016 00:27

I didn't like it at all, think because we seen abi grow up from a child she still is about 16 in my mind it just felt wrong to see her in her bra. Ben could have dragged her out and said it without striping her off. Surely someone would have assisted really odd behaviour from eastenders team.

Only good thing is finally it's over but surely Paul will see how nasty Ben is now and ditch him big time. Which would make room for the sudden return of oh look a single guy gay I wonder who they can pair him up with.

looki · 12/04/2016 00:41

I found the whole episode distressing and disturbing and I felt quite sick after watching it. The majority of sexual encounters in EE are drunken, abusive and hard to watch. The only one that was ever 'nice' was Mick and Linda and even that changed when the viewers knew how hard it was for Linda to be intimate after she was assaulted. EE is getting too gritty and grim to watch. I think it might be time for me to go back to Corrie where at least there was some humour, when I last watched it (about five years ago).

SoupDragon · 12/04/2016 05:36

she got her commupence

So you think a child being assaulted by an adult is her fault and justified? That's what you appear to be saying.

Yes, she deserves to suffer consequences but assault is not appropriate consequences.

I wonder if Paul will run a mile now he's seen what Ben is like.

JellyBaby26 · 12/04/2016 06:59

Does anyone else suspect the builder as Ronnies stalker? They are getting a bit much air time...and she asked where one of them was.

SoupDragon · 12/04/2016 07:14

The builders are a bit prominent aren't they? Tradesmen are usually only background characters, they don't do stuff like save babies.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 12/04/2016 07:57

So I guess we are all sure the flowers aren't from someone called Rip and it's all a misunderstanding?

Jasonandyawegunorts · 12/04/2016 08:03

This morning i thought of a brilliant idea, "Spot Dot" June Brown hides somewhere in every episode and eagle eyed viewers have to spot her. It will be brilliant.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 12/04/2016 08:03

Just like where's wally.

celeste83 · 12/04/2016 09:26

You're forgetting that Louise is commiting fraud. She should probably consider herself lucky the police aren't looking into the matter.

Its amazing how quickly Jack has got planning approval and building control approval for his flats scheme seeing as he only brought the house last week. Normally it takes 2 or 3 months to clear that.

mrswhiplington · 12/04/2016 10:49

Ben is definitely turning out like his father. Even the scene where Ben was shouting at Abi in the house before she told him about fake pregnancy scared me. He looked like he could've killed her. I have a feeling Ben may kill again in the future.

The scene at the end was ludicrous. Why did nobody step in and help Abi? She could have walloped him herself with her other hand. Johnny turning up like that, especially with a new head was silly. The scriptwriters are losing the plot. Grin

Squashysbrother · 12/04/2016 11:11

Last nights left me amazed that Ben has Paul and Abi fighting over him.

WonderingAspie · 12/04/2016 11:22

Fucking hell celeste, insensitive much! Hmm

Yes Louise is a bitch, yes she deserves to be found out. No, what Ben did was not fucking justified in any way shape or form! Yep, I'm sure my 'mother' believed I deserved it as a punishment too, probably for wetting the bed or stealing food again. FFS, catch a hold of yourself and read what you've bloody written. If you believe it's a justified punishment then god help those around you who may do something wrong one day! You've made me so angry with your ignorant comments.

Anyway, the scene with Johnny was ridiculous. Do we really think he would have walked in, ignored the humiliation of a woman on stage to just step in front and show himself to his parents! I do like EE and I know they aren't always known for their realism but they are getting bloody ridiculous these days.

Builder could be the stalker, but how would he know about Danielle? I think we see them because 'Jerome' (from Brookside) is Vincent's brother.

AndYourBirdCanSing · 12/04/2016 11:29

I haven't watched it yet but it sounds awful! Did no one help Abbie at all?! Was it Ben who flushed Louise's head down the toilet?

Squashysbrother · 12/04/2016 11:29

Celeste comment was just horrible and ridiculous. I'm not quite sure how anyone can say that they enjoy seeing a young woman and a child being violently attached by a man and in such a way.

Squashysbrother · 12/04/2016 11:32

Ben went off on one, got drunk, dragged Louise into the toilet and flushed her head in the toilet, then threw up in a sink. Pulled Abbie's top off then pulled her by the arms out into the pub and told everyone what she'd done.

I thought it was ridiculous that no one helped Abbie.

SoupDragon · 12/04/2016 11:36

What other victims of assault do you think "deserved it", Celeste ? FFS.

celeste83 · 12/04/2016 11:52

Everyone turns a blind eye when its an assult on a male on EE but because its a female everyone gets offended. Everyone also turns a blind eye to fraud. Just because Phil is an alcoholic does not make it a lesser of a crime to be frauded £1000's. Ben probably should have dobbed her into the police, who in real life would have given her a custodial sentance with a criminal record and messed up any decent employment opportunities in life. I apologise if my comment offended anyone. Anyway its only a soap.

AndYourBirdCanSing · 12/04/2016 11:55

Thanks squashy, I'm not going to get chance to watch until tomorrow. What a complete and utter bastard! I cannot believe that no one stepped in to help Angry

SoupDragon · 12/04/2016 11:55

Great non apology for the foul victim blaming.

The assaults on males tend to be peer to peer (eg Martin beating up Kush) rather than on smaller,/weaker people or children

SoupDragon · 12/04/2016 11:57

If any adult did that to my child they would find themselves talking to a police officer.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 12/04/2016 11:58

Everyone turns a blind eye when its an assult on a male on EE but because its a female everyone gets offended.

Actually when Stalla was abusing Ben people were equally offended.

MagpieCursedTea · 12/04/2016 11:59

Pretty sure people were just as outraged when Billy was abusing Jamie and when Stella was abusing Ben.
It doesn't matter what a child has done, there is never any excuse to abuse a child. It might only be a soap but the discussion about it is showing that you think there can be justifications for what Ben did.
