Wasn't Boadicea Mrs Overall's name, from Acorn Antiques?

tortoiseshell · 02/01/2007 15:58

Geraldine's first name was definitely Boadicea. And another continuity mistake was that Jim Trott was married - his wife was the one who kept saying 'Yes Yes Yes Yes'.

Have to say, I thought one of the FUNNIEST points was the beginning of the Xmas day episode, with Jim relating being on Deal or No Deal, getting down to the last 2 boxes, 10p or £250,000, gets an offer of 100k, says 'No No No No.....Deal' and 'the banker for some reason misheard him and thought he didn't want to deal, so he opened the box and there was 10p.

JessaJingleBells · 02/01/2007 16:49

I thought that too! She appeared in some othe repisode too...was it the one when David was trying to get elected and had to do all the visits...she said "yes yes yes yes.. no" (in hilarious counterpoint to her husband...)

Didn't Geraldine sort of jab the vicar with her elbow when he was saying her name to stop him saying all of it? Just before he tried to get her to say the wrong name for the groom. I couldn't remember what her middle name was but I thought that it must be something embarrassing because she didn't want him to say it.

tortoiseshell · 03/01/2007 14:52

Pixel, that wasn't to stop 'Boadicea' it was to stop 'Julie Andrews Dick van Dyke Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Chim Chimenee Chim Chimenee Chim Chim Cheree'. Which is what her mother called her apparently. Alice thought it was a beautiful name.

Crikey - I thought it was absolute b*ocks, I cringed all the way through and I used to love the series. Thought it was a terrible end to it all - not it terms of the story line, just the pathetic, predictable jokes... (Sorry!)

On Teletext it says there is going to be another one-off, final, last ever Dibley.

Richard Curtis has revealed he's bringing back 'Geraldine McEwan', played by Dawn French, for a Comic Relief special in March.

(Presumably that is a copywriter's error and not Richard Curtis's).
