If he doesn't believe in her theory then what he's asking her to do is really harsh! Imagine her guilt if she killed him and she was wrong??

DH is getting really worked up because this doesn't make sense! He pointed out that there's a whole other story of Doggett turning up in the other dimension and finding out Monica's dead. Why doesn't he remember? And why do they go back in time?

He's got a point actually.

Maybe the other doggett is with her now. dead together?

maybe he does remember but refuses to believe it just like scully used to do.

There's definite scope for some fan fiction!

Well, just to fill in the gaps I suppose. But yes, there are endless posibilities if you apply the theory to virtually any storyline!
