I actually stopped watching when they killed Danielle and refused to watch it for years. Only started again when Sharon and Phil got married.

It is quite shite lately doesn't stop me watching it though.

gingercat02 · 09/03/2016 07:48

Loved Kim having Mother's day regardless of her entire family falling to bits. Claudette's dress was magnificent. Very weird Mum logic from Linda - the 2 adult children could have seriously injured/killed Ollie with their squabbling but maybe it will make them behave better in future. I'd have gone off my head at the pair of childish idiots!

Optimist1 · 09/03/2016 09:09

Are the scriptwriters having a Bring Your Year 6 Child to Work and let them write the script month? (And yet, like PPs, I continue to watch ...)

MissBattleaxe · 09/03/2016 09:13

I loved Mick frogmarching his kids out of the pub in front of everyone. Good for him!

LemonBreeland · 09/03/2016 10:38

Last night's episode was almost worse than Mondays. Jordan is terrbile actor with his droopy open mouth face. The acting from Vincent and Claudette was truly terrible.

The only saving grace was Kim, as she is so wrapped uo in her own world she just doesn't care what is going on. She is a brilliant comedy character.

And that Ronnie storyline seems totally pointless.

LineyReborn · 09/03/2016 10:42

I agree that acting is diabolical these days.

The actors playing Jordan and Lee are particularly poor. When you think of the competition there must be for these parts, it astonishes me how the producers look like they've scraped the barrel so deep and hard.

MagpieCursedTea · 09/03/2016 10:56

Kim is brilliant, I think her and Vincent work very well with comedy scenes.

I thought that Jordon was going try and kiss Denise when he grabbed her face.

LemonBreeland · 09/03/2016 11:02

Yes the Lee actor is terrible, and completely unconvincing as a soldier. Nancy also has her moments of being very poor.

Heavens2Betsy · 09/03/2016 11:38

Claudette's boobs ShockShockShock

mrswhiplington · 09/03/2016 14:39

Magpie I thought the same about Jordan kissing Denise, glad it didn't go there.

Why does Libby always look so old fashioned, her glasses and those drab clothes. It's about time they modernised her.

LineyReborn · 09/03/2016 14:49

I suppose it's the crass signalling that EE now seems reduced to.

Jordan is meant to be Just Like Lucas.

Libby is meant to be Clever And A Geek.

AndYourBirdCanSing · 09/03/2016 14:58

Yes I dislike the acting from both Nancy and Lee- I wonder what new head Johnny wull be like?! I'm sure I used to think Nancy was ok though (both character and acting). I've always thought Lee was a drip though.

I actually really quite fancy Vincent so shall not be commenting on any acting Grin

LineyReborn · 09/03/2016 15:03

The bloke who plays Lee actually did three years at ArtsEd drama school in London studying musical theatre. I have to say, I'm amazed.

BlueThursday · 09/03/2016 15:52

Could it be the direction at fault then if these actors are well studied?

Jasonandyawegunorts · 09/03/2016 16:00

keep in mind they have to rush through scenes to get them filmed as quickly as possible, i doubt there is much time for a second go at a scene when you have 4 episodes a week.

notquitehuman · 09/03/2016 19:08

I looked it up and there is footage of the Lee actor singing:

He's not bad. Got that kind of drama school kid singing voice. He's a bit more lively in real life. I reckon they drug him on the show!

MagpieCursedTea · 09/03/2016 19:37

Bless him. It did make me think of him begging Whitney not to leave him though.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2016 21:49

Just caught up. Wow at bosum in red dress and why didn't she hit GAVIN harder and a shag isn't worth £20k !!!!

What happened to Ollie. Phone call in middle of ee Hmm

Two episodes tonight as there's no Friday episode.

LineyReborn · 10/03/2016 07:44

I don't think I can take any more of Lee's miserably strange face and his interminable mumbling. If that's 'acting' he can keep it.

Ditto the endless references to faaaamily by virtually every criminal and damaged character in EE.

ArtfulPuss · 10/03/2016 08:13

There is no way that basement renovation is only costing £30k.

LemonBreeland · 10/03/2016 09:08

Danny-Boy has more expression in the first 15 seconds of that clip than we've ever seen on EE.

LineyReborn · 10/03/2016 09:20

I think the only direction that D-BH must receive on the EE set is 'look and sound really fucking miserable'.

He's quite a wasted asset in that regard, given that the clip shows he can act more than just the one facial expression.

People with depression do have more the one expression and tone of voice. Though from the portrayals of Lee and sometimes Stacey you'd never guess it. It annoys me.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 10/03/2016 12:55

Marks (Mitchell) place

notquitehuman · 10/03/2016 14:15

I think he researched depression by watching a few episodes of Droopy the dog and copying his facial expressions. I've been through terrible periods of depression but always managed a facial expression or two!
