I think we are supposed to think jack is getting married but she will turn out to be his best friends girl friend and when Ronnie storms in to the wedding he will be best man or something.

MagpieCursedTea · 03/03/2016 22:20

As if Jack wouldn't even visit his "pregnant" niece when he was in the square.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/03/2016 23:05

Agree all will get the clap and Whitney will then break up with him

Not sure how abi will be able to fake the pregancy a few months as meant to be going for a scan soon

Unless she is a bitch and says she loses the baby via mc due to the std to guilt BEN?

Havnt seen tonight's yet

Babe is such a cow and still want to iron her face

Invisible Matthew is just getting beyond a joke now. The only time he's mentioned is when Ronnie's got to collect him from someone or some random is telling her that they've just settled her baby in her house while she was standing around being moody. Does she ever actually see her child?! Ditto Amy, no-one thought to question where she was. You'd have thought that would be Ronnie's first question, what with her pathological need to control the lives of anyone she's vaguely related to!

AndYourBirdCanSing · 04/03/2016 07:04

I can't believe Ronnie wouldn't ask about Amy, how ridiculous!

I love Vincent and Kim, I want more of them

mrswhiplington · 04/03/2016 09:33

I love Vincent and Kim in their comic moments too. I think the scriptwriters forget that people still have fun in real life without it all ending in tragedy or a massive argument.

I was also Shock at Mick saying "div". Haven't heard the word for years, not even sure what it means.

Saw back of Matthew's head for a few seconds while Phil was drinking in living room, so he is still alive then.

SoupDragon · 04/03/2016 09:49

What's wrong with div?

Yoksha · 04/03/2016 10:23

mrswhiplington,
Just for you -Full Definition of divot. 1 Scottish : a square of turf or sod. 2 : a loose piece of turf (as one dug from a golf fairway in making a shot)
Grin

notquitehuman · 04/03/2016 10:26

Div used to be quite offensive I'm sure. I think it's just slang for a thick person, but people used to apply it to those with learning disabilities.

I doubt Danny Dyer hates disabled people though. Just women.

MagpieCursedTea · 04/03/2016 10:31

I thought it was an offensive term for someone with learning difficulties.
I had a quick look on urban dictionary and one of the definitions there says it's a term for a child with low intelligence that comes from "individual needs child".

imwithspud · 04/03/2016 11:12

I didn't realise it was an offensive term.

OhTinky · 04/03/2016 11:35

Terrible run of episodes this week. The idea that Lucas is able to hide a mobile under his prison mattress is ridiculous.
Where was Amy? And I also totally forgot that Sharon and Jack used to date
I keep expecting Gavin to lurk into the side of the scene.
I do like how Phil has a slightly yellow tinge as per liver failure, but wouldn't he be more ill somehow, given that he was vomiting blood three weeks ago. Ridiculous that they just accept that he drinks and keep drink in the house...

Akire · 04/03/2016 11:36

I'm from Wales we used to use div as word for silly. Never ever used as a comment against anyone else it's was so mild it would be like calling someone silly therefore hardly worth the effort as to mild be offensive. Certainly not against learning disabilities.

MagpieCursedTea · 04/03/2016 11:56

I'd also forgotten about Sharon and Jack, I still can't remember them being together. What happened?

Yoksha · 04/03/2016 12:25

Akire,, ditto application where I come from in Scotland. Just mild like being silly. It was never connected to those with learning difficulties.

AGnu · 04/03/2016 14:11

I'm from Wales too. As a teenager I heard it being used in much the same way as calling someone a retard. Neither are words that I'd expect to hear on EE unless they were making a point about bullying/inappropriate language.

notquitehuman · 04/03/2016 14:34

I grew up near London AGnu, and yes I'd say it's the modern equivalent of saying 'retard' or 'mong'. I wasn't mortally offended or anything, just a bit of a surprise to hear it on TV being used in a playful manner.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 04/03/2016 15:04

Totally forgot about Sharon and Jack. Were they engaged? Or was that Jack and Tanya?

SoupDragon · 04/03/2016 15:44

I grew up in South London and I wouldn't say it was like those words at all.

SoupDragon · 04/03/2016 15:44

I can't say it's part of my regular vocabulary though.

PuppyMonkey · 04/03/2016 15:47

Where I'm from, div just means the same as twit.

  • Wonders if twit is also offensive....Blush
BlueThursday · 04/03/2016 17:31

I'm Scottish and here to call someone Div means their name is David

RoseBud999 · 04/03/2016 17:50

I'm from East London, div to me would mean idiot, usually in a playful way. But I haven't heard anyone say it since the 90's!

I have also completely forgotten about Jack and Sharon - have no memory of it whatsoever. Can't believe Ronnie would ever want him, when he's had children with her sister, and cousin. And been with her cousin-in-law. Gross.

HouseOfMouse · 04/03/2016 18:52

I'm surprised no one remembers Jack and Sharon's wedding - with her in the most unflattering black dress.

Akire · 04/03/2016 19:40

I have a mind block over Sharon and Jack too!! Has Jack slept with more women on the square than max?
