My theory about William is that 'they' were trying to get her pregnant at the same time as her sleeping with Mulder. And William is partly a normal biological child part experiment. Which is why when he's born they all leave again because he doesn't look how they expect.

That's pretty much what I thought. except mulder was the spermatogenesis dinar anyway wasn't he? so either way it would have been his but what they did we will never know

We know the fertility treatment failed though. Maybe whatever 'they' were doing made her fertile again. So when in the timeline was the fertility treatment? It must have been before this point.

That's where I git lost as it never seemed to add up and was all done in flash backs. plus you never knew fir sure it was all just implied.

Oh I think I see what you mean. I always assumed her awkwardness in asking him to be a sperm donor was because it all takes place in season six before they're sleeping together. But I suppose it could be equally awkward if it was after they're sleeping together in season seven.

I'm overthinking this aren't I?
