Anyone watching?

I'm more fascinated with horror that some Mnetters here are rushing online to complain that the girls aren't good looking enough to be high-class call girls. Or that the ladies are faking their ages.

anotherdayanothername1 · 21/05/2015 23:26

Wasn't it all about looks though? All the surgery, fillers and Botox?

Sure, we could pretend their jobs were about self worth, ambition and intelligence, but they weren't were they

The women themselves said it was about cash, cash, cum and more cash

Pretty shallow stuff

Sleepyfergus · 21/05/2015 23:27

I think the title of the programme makes you think of a certain type - savvy, attractive, discret, sophisticated, albeit a prostitute however you dress it up.

These girls were far from that. Perhaps the programme title was ironic in that the girls considered themselves to be all the above, but were in fact far from it. It's all a charade however it's presented isn't it ?

LaurieFairyCake · 21/05/2015 23:29

I think 'high class' just means not a street walker now

However you dress it's up its a horrible thing to do for money.

Corygal · 21/05/2015 23:35

It's bound to be heavily about looks for them, but I'm not sure it should be about looks for us. As for class, I'm cackling that people would get indignant that the girls were common.

In any case, have you ever met a fashion model IRL? They really do look like normal people, albeit unusually long and thin. Cellulite, spots, moles, sagging, the lot. Or a modern-day deb? You'd be surprised.

anotherdayanothername1 · 21/05/2015 23:40

Im not sure why you're cackling that people think they're 'common'. Has anyone said that?

But condoms in Superdrug bags on door handles, a dirty and scruffy home, being filmed washing cum off your tits - that's no class, surely?

I don't think people are referring to class in the working/middle type way are they?

anotherdayanothername1 · 21/05/2015 23:41

And yes, met many a fashion model
What's your point?

To find the Twitter thread, search on #callgirls.

I was also shocked her Dad thought it was a better life than being a single mum in a council flat ("she's investing well"). I guess he was trying to rationalise it being okay. It's such a sad, empty, boring way to live - cash is not everything and they both know that really.

They put up a not very convincing front. Early on Emily was talking about how she would be really picky about getting a boyfriend in the future and only do it when she had stopped "escorting". Then they showed how she had gone out with some random, been really needy on the phone, how he had gone awol (she hadn't known anything much about him at all) and had ended up pregnant - just awful.

I also wondered( like others on here) about how strict the girls were about condom use. Especially when Emily was obviously not managing being on the pill rigourously - surely they would get implants. Their hygiene/ self care did seem very poor.

CruCru · 22/05/2015 14:06

Presumably, those who I would think of as high class call girls wouldn't consider going on a show like this - their regulars wouldn't like it.

WineIsFineAtNine · 22/05/2015 14:37

There's no way these girls were 'the top' girls. I used to know a very successful escort (going back 13/14 years ago, she's since retired and would now be around 36). She lived in South Kensington but only did out calls to Mayfair and Knightsbridge, would only meet clients at five star hotels there for the first meeting and then would she go to their private property. Her personal care was excellent- didn't smoke or drink, went to the hairdressers twice a week for a blowdry and followed a strict vegan diet. Had never had surgery and was a natural (but VERY polished) beauty. Had 6 days off a month to catch up on sleep and get into 'normal life'. She was earning upwards of £1000 a night and this was 13/14 years ago. The top girls would never go on a documentary like this and take too much pride in their job to smoke and drink like the girls on the programme. As for drinking with a client Shock

I knew the girl through a friend, fascinating life and nothing like the girls on last nights programme. She never talked about clients either!

Hate to see how Belle Du Jour and the like have glamorised it.

dillite · 22/05/2015 16:48

Wine your description is exactly what I imagined a High Class girl to be like.

mistymeanour · 22/05/2015 17:23

I agree, they weren't high class" call girls". In fact they didn't seem to go out much on calls but had internet/phone punters into the flat. Could they really charge £500 for what seemed like vanilla sessions in a tatty flat in used bedsheets?

I used to know someone in the 90's who let a flat to two women near Harley Street (she suspected were "working girls") they always paid on time and were excellent tenants. Their flat was immaculate. They always had champagne in the fridge and top end spirits, a "housekeeper" and a suspiciously large laundry bin of towels and bed linen. Surely, this is what is expected for that type of money??

How on earth did the TV company persuade Cookie's parents on to the show?

How much of it was a set-up do you think? Cookie's sugar daddy meeting seemed set-up as did the "punters" they questioned. They both were ordinary young blokes (TV production interns?)

southeastastra · 22/05/2015 21:22

i thought it was quite interesting, of course they're high class they earn alot of money.

it's a fascinating subject really would like to know more about the two that appeared on the show, they seemed really normal but good at putting on an act for the camera.

WineIsFineAtNine · 22/05/2015 21:24

£500 isn't that much in the scheme of how much the 'top girls' can make, but it a lot compared to what most sex workers make. The escort I knew never really talked about the sex acts (just like she never talked about clients) but she was regularly taken on trips abroad and to events as a companion. The girls on the show didn't mention this, which is strange if they have genuinely 'elite' clients. Being booked for a 'tour' (if a client is holidaying on the continent, for example, for a few weeks then the girl I knew would be flown out too and join him) was another way she would work. Also, she was far more subtle- VERY polished and beautiful but would always try to look fairly inconspicuous and discrete when working, not waltzing into a hotel wearing what appears to be just a coat and 6 inch heels. Most of the 'elite' clients prefer to meet at hotels or at their property (an outcall), too risky to go to the escort's place.

The set-up you've described does indeed sound like escorts, Misty.

I can't imagine how Cookie's parents must feel nor what made them agree to be filmed and the how thing did seem a bit set up with the clients. Far too risky to be filmed! I was surprised at the sugar daddies being ok with their escorting? But then I don't know anybody with experience of a sugardaddy so not sure how that works. Agree they were more punters than clients with the whole internet set up.

The whole set up with using the internet for punters seems unprofessional and bad for the girls mental health, they didn't appear to ever 'switch off' or have any hobbies outside of their work.

Gosh I sound like some kind of escorting expert Blush, I knew the escort because my friend was friends with her.

Hughexperience1 · 08/06/2015 16:01

Hi,
Agree with a lot of being said here but as to men loving their families, it just isn't always possible for a man to get what he needs at home (and it is a very strong urge which can literally torment). A good example is bi sexuality. There are many married men who are bi and their wives have no idea and could never meet that need.
Best wishes,
Hugh

Top girls are still hookers. Sad, sad, sad.

Duckdeamon · 10/06/2015 19:38

I know someone very like the person wine describes. Very intelligent, great qualifications and previous jobs. She had a pretty toxic upbringing and has MH problems and saw money / men as some kind of solution, she is in a LT relationship now with an emotionally abusive client.
