We bonded over books, games, meals, trips to the park etc when my kids were little, not bloody spray tans!

Viewofthehills · 19/05/2015 21:28

It's really sad they think its necessary , but these Mums are doing their best and at least they're talking to their kids.
Actually they've just started the spray tan and now I'm just speechless!

StormSwept · 19/05/2015 21:28

It seems the little lads, their sons are just an after thought!

FiftyShadesOfGreen4205 · 19/05/2015 21:29

noddyholder · 19/05/2015 21:29

FlyingPirate · 19/05/2015 21:29

Sisterelephant · 19/05/2015 21:30

You are so right TheOriginalWinky it's really been ramped up and of course its all about little girls, no one gives a shite about little boys

Shenanagins · 19/05/2015 21:31

I hope that this is heavily edited as I have loved to have done this stuff as a kid as long as I was still able to get out and play like a normal child and maybe that's the bit we're not seeing.

FiftyShadesOfGreen4205 · 19/05/2015 21:35

I don't know what to make of this. Are they compensating for something?

Sisterelephant · 19/05/2015 21:40

They keep talking about giving their girls confidence but how will they be if the mums are making them believe they are not enough as they are, and need to be made beautiful by tanning and make up and over the top clothes??

Its actually really sad. The mums are so deluded

TheCrowFromBelow · 19/05/2015 21:44

This is awful that poor girl

TheFairyCaravan · 19/05/2015 21:46

Piercing a 12yo's belly button? Shock.

I would be furious if I was her mother!

FiftyShadesOfGreen4205 · 19/05/2015 21:51

There is such a short window for little girls where they are free from the pressures of thinking they need to look a certain way or conform. These parents are fucking that up by projecting their own crap onto their daughters.

girliefriend · 19/05/2015 21:52

Am actually finding this programme quite upsetting Sad poor kids.

These woman are a complete nightmare Shock

TheFairyCaravan · 19/05/2015 21:57

Those poor children are going to need so much therapy when they are older. Sad

Sisterelephant · 19/05/2015 21:57

Jheez!

Don't think I'll be watching next weeks episode. It's really awful

I'd completed stereotype bingo in the first five minutes. The little girl who was made to do the modelling looked utterly fed up, the guilt tripping "Don't let me down" was uncomfortable to watch, in fact the whole thing was uncomfortable to watch. I was gobsmacked when the Mum then talks about other mums pushing their daughters into modelling and how she hasn't done that. There is so much more to these little girls than how they look, and it's sad that their mums are not giving them this message.

BlueBananas · 19/05/2015 22:23

The "don't let Mummy down" part was really really sad Sad

floatyflo · 19/05/2015 22:29

I've decided that this is a sneery programme setting up these women for a fall. Where are the dads? Er, they've fucked off. And these women are, in their own fucked up way doing what they think is best for their DDs, and they're being exploited and its ok because they aren't naice and dressing their kids in Boden. Shameful programme.

Spot on

noddyholder · 19/05/2015 22:42

I don't think it's sneery Lots of women on their own with children and don't put them through that. It's not the clothes it's the message they are all living out shortcomings from their lives through their children and it seemed bullying to me

INickedAName · 19/05/2015 22:54

Also the spray tanning lady, saying it was the child's choice, she wants to wear those clothes, when previously we saw her being told she wasn't allowed to wear leggings to the park. She expressed a wish to jump in muddy puddles which mum said no to. It's limiting the choices and possible experiences of her daughter.

A couple of the mums were on This Morning today, and one of them said "it's a waste of a girl, dressing them plain" I don't understand how they can believe that they are helping their children with confidence by focusing on their looks so much and then criticising girls and women who don't.

AGirlCalledBoB · 19/05/2015 23:00

I don't mind some it on the show, I would not dress my kids like that myself because that's not my taste but they seem happy kids.

The only thing that really pisses me off and I judge is the jewed up dummies. It so stupid to do that and risk a baby choking on a jewel for the sake of vanity.

CycleChic · 19/05/2015 23:20

A 6 year old putting make up on every day, not just for fun, and doing her nails
Nobody tell my DD, or the begging for this sort of thing will become intolerable!

emmelinelucas · 19/05/2015 23:53

Little gow.
They all have little gows on this kind of programme.
