Have just got around to watching this.

What a fantastic series!

Brilliant!

Blows Homeland right out of the water imo.

A question though.

When Nimrode, Uri & Amiel were captured, Jamal was attempting to return after 10yrs as an informer.

Was it pure coincidence that the two events happened at the same time?

And the capture happened due to Jamal being followed?

i suppose he realised then that he wouldn't get back so the plan to at least try to get Ismail there using Amiel?

I've looked at Imdb which doesn't seem to rate the last ep of series 2, but I thought it was as good as any other.

just about concluded stuff if to be no more, but plenty left for there to be more!

Yes, supposedly if Noni shot Abdullah then Amiel would die.

But as you say, so what?

so maybe they need him back to see what he knows?

For me the big thing about the last episode was the reveal that it was Abdullah who was shot (the penultimate episode left me thinking that it might have been Noni), and then that it was Ismail who shot him - a hugely powerful point, because the leaders of the cell were killed (or maybe not) by members (although Amiel was an informer, but we're still not clear how much he empathised - he clearly loves his wife, has some sort of loyalty to Jamal, and loves Ismail) of the cell.

It did have a bit of a "happy ending", but I assume that the makers of the show wanted it to have a proper, satisfactory ending, in case it wasn't picked up for a third series. At the same time, it left a lot open - particularly by Haim's comment that Noni's mission seemed to have worked out too easily.

Now I think that Noni was clear that his main aim was to keep Amiel alive at all costs, rather than kill Abdullah. Also, they could have just killed Abdullah when he was one of their prisoners. It was Amiel's suggestion that Uri and Nimrode be released, it took 12 years to negotiate, and during that time the Israelis knew where they were but did nothing about it.

Amiel was happy to share what he knows with the Isrealis - he was communicating through the books.

So why have him back (which I'm now convinced was the main aim ), rather than keep him in position of informer? In fact, didn't someone in the Israeli authorities (maybe Ze'ev) say something about how Amiel MUST be brought back alive?

No one else that we know of is there as an informer; so why the importance of getting Amiel back, even though it means losing a spy's information?
